Cynical post is cynical. Have you considered for a moment that some people may actually continue their accounts after the 6 months, instead of consolidating onto their main and thus negating the benefits of having two accounts. And speaking of mains, post on your main.
It is designed to push those borderline players who were thinking about opening 2nd account but never got around to it to go ahead and open it. Either way win-win situation for CCP - they either get full 6 month sub from you for twice the number of accounts or they get a long term subscriber. If you ever want to consolidate that character on your second account you will still have to pay $20 fee. Power of Two saves you money only if you keep 2nd account running indefinitely and never transfer char on it to your main account to close 2nd account down.
As for mains, amuse me. Track and remember everything that i post with this character. Then six months down the road recite it all to me as proof that you truly cared about what i posted on these forums.

ive got two accounts.. this char.. a pirate and a mission runner for making my iskies. I pay for them both atm, because im currently spending my isk on other things i need (need CNR for mission alt, set of slaves for pirate, and a nice buffer to buy ships when i lose them, so it might take a while) . But when ive finished spending, ill be able to pay for the second account with GTC's
So id say yes, second account is definitaly worth it, its not really that much money. So just go for it :P

Well, I'd say until CCP gets some serious issues fixed, don't waste your money m8. There are so many bugs it isn't even funny anymore. I've just dropped two of my accounts for now and I'm about to drop two more and wait for CCP to get off their ass and fix these bugs. Your call of course, so good luck!

I'd rather use the monthly fee to sell GTCs if I really needed the ISK. A second account is too much management for me. You need to change skills a lot more, and if you made the second account to make ISK, you need to make enough to justify the monthly fee and then some.

Makes things so much easier.

although i have 2 accounts, mainly for cap ship purposes, if it was for isk making i would have to be making 250 mil a month before it was worth it due to how much gtc`s sell for

It's fairly handy, yeah.
Does save on training time and make life easier.
Mostly because you have to focus to do stuff well so this way you can focus on two areas.
Over a long enough timeline probably not but at the minute I've got two chars who would between them be one pretty kick ass all rounder but that'd take me months up to a year to do.
