I think he's referring to the fact that minmatar ships are typically faster than their counterparts; however, since the race is starter ships only, I doubt the difference will be that problematic. Or, if you're really worried, just purchase the minmatar frigate skill, spam a minmatar alt to get the ship(s), and fly a reaper. Kudos to The PitBoss, was really fun, had a great time, and that's not just because I won Anyway, I've proven that Ibis is still the superior noobship Honestly, great event, will do it again. Rancer was pretty fun. Scary as **** though. I guess it paid off to be a little behind everyone, and with those smartbombs, I got really lucky. I decided to bet everything on squeezing a microwarp drive, and it paid off in the end, when I managed to be the fastest sprinter. Anyway, thanks again. Thank you BattleClinic for supporting my addictions. Also, next time this happens, everyone should join, it's really fun And you're not even risking much.

I started off pretty good, first out of the station and warping off, competing with Mishirosen for 1st place. A good few jumps and then we entered rancer. I figured I'd let somebody else warp from the cloak first so that the attention gets diverted from me. It worked and I made it to the rancer exit gate but booom, smartbombed there :P As I began to take damage on my pod, I was able to just make it as I warped off. No afterburners in rancer but did get an overdrive and off again with the second Impairor. This one made it through the exit gate and off to the destination. Got inside and I see a few people there already with 1,2,3,5 gone and 4 being contested strongly. Someone else was going for 7 I think. No one seemed to notice the Vagabond :P And I slowly(399m/s) made my way to Prize 6. Alfonso might've beaten me actually(think he had a AB) if he had'nt mistakenly warped. So a fair bit of bad luck and at the end good luck for me :) Overall, it was good fun Good luck and gratz to all the others :) My gratitude to PitBoss and all the sponsors and donators. Another way you guys make EvE more fun :)
Esus Ionhar	Posted - 2008.11.16 19:07:00 - [53] Great fun. Tension beforehand was palpable. I blame my defeat entirely upon Rancer and being stuck on a gate unable to jump. Warped out to a station with my pid burning. Typically when I jumped back, the gate was basically clear... However it was very well run and I did get a prize at least. Congrats to all that took part. So...when's the next one? ;)
matbrum	Posted - 2008.11.16 19:36:00 - [54] Great fun, I got 5th Prize: A lovely lovely Deimos Rancer was pretty fun with everyone shouting in voice. Thankfully made it through untouched by the large gate camp on the way in and the smartbombing BS on the way out. A fair bit of jump button hammering was done though! Will be coming on the next one and will donate something pretty. Thanks to Pitboss and the other organisers and the sponsors for the prizes.

Much excitement was had here. Great crowd, great prizes, and all for a little risk. Best (and first) race I ever done. Loved it. Weee, I got 25 million! I see no man like man see's me.
