Hi there.
I recently 'upgraded' my system from Windows XP to Vista. Before doing so I was able to use Eve voice with no issues. However since installing Vista I am unable to use Eve voice at all. When I check the 'eve voice enabled' box in the audio settings nothing happens. Previously a bunch of options would appear as normal and I'd be able to join channels and do all the usual stuff. Now all that happens is a tick appears in the box. Completely blank beneath that and Eve voice simply doesn't work. I am hoping someone out there has had a similar problem and might know of a workaround for that.
Some additional information: I've tried unplugging my headset and just using speakers and I've tried replacing the headset with another. Neither of those worked. I believe I have updated drivers for all my hardware and have come here to obtain some advice from others in the community. Hopefully one of you can help!
Thanks in advance

"Upgraded" as in "no fresh install" ? That's not recommended
Try disabling Vista's User Access Control Do you hear the normal EVE sounds?

Edited by: Jacinta Worth on 29/09/2008 18:22:05 It was a clean install. Everything else works fine. I have all the eve sounds and no issues with anything else to do with Eve. I can use teamspeak with no problems. It is only eve voice that is giving me this problem. Normally I'd not even worry about it but my corp and alliance have become used to general chat on it so I'm a bit out of the loop :P It also annoys me that something that was working a couple of days ago suddenly isn't. My brother's laptop has Vista and works fine with eve voice so I'm guessing something's gone wrong either with the install or the drivers associated with my card. It's kind of frustrating that I don't even know where to begin looking for fault or solutions. Fundamentally I have the same system as my brother and yet his works fine and all I get is a ticked box with nothing else to show for it. Weird...
edit: oh and user access control was one of the first things I turned off. Annoying messages popping up everytime I wanted to do something got old really fast. THanks for the tips, though, much appreciated.

Quick update, for those that care. Turns out it was my firewall that was the problem. Seems like it was a little over-zealous in its application. Not necessarily a bad thing overall. Looks like it's sorted now.
