No, the real question I'd like the answer to is: Who in their right mind would pick an Achura male over a female avatar? Are they blind?

1. Hope that your ! avatar never goes away 2. Never click on yourself in game so it doesn't load.

Eh ...
When I first started playing an MMO, I had trouble figuring out guys who played female avatars too.
The thing was, when I made my first character - that was me. That was me there in the game. That avatar represented me.
OK ... so I made another character on a second account. Now ... if the driver of the tank (which is what the first character did) was ME, then - who was the second character? Not me ... He was just my alt.
Once I'd made that transition, from thinking of every character I played as ME to thinking of the vast majority of them as just being alts the next part became really easy when another guy explained why he played chick characters. We spent a lot of time in 3rd person and - he liked looking at their asses.
So, I made a chick character and I found that I preferred looking at her ass as well.
Since then, I've probably made more chick characters than male. I still make some male characters now and then, such as this one, when I want to represent myself in some way as being that character. But, if I'm just playing another alt then it doesn't really matter.
In Planetside, my thing was being a combat engineer and going around laying mines at all of our rear area bases. So, when they came out with their Reserves program (where you could play for free but not advance past BR6) I created 3 Reserves accounts to go with my 3 active accounts so I could lay lots and lots of mines. Now in PS you could have 8 characters per account and they had 3 Empires and 3 servers (now it's just two servers). So I had characters for one empire on each server from six different accounts. Plus, since it wasn't against their TOS to let other people use your characters - I had a bunch of characters I'd made for my friends and relatives when they came over to play on my LAN. And I had a bunch I created just to mess around with and try something out (with 8 accounts you could afford to be profligate).
The end result of all that was that I had in the vicinity of 50 characters. At that point, I barely thought of ANY of them as being ME.
So, by the time I got to EVE ... I was long past the point where I identified myself with any of my avatars, except possibly the very first one. But I don't play that guy that much any more so *shrug* ...
When I'm playing the game now, I don't think "Ok ... now I'm going to go over here and do this ...." I think "OK now he/she is going to go over here and do this ..."
The avatars are just little creatures I boss around - not - me.

It's a roleplay thing, imagining yourself as the pilot. Much like playing with action figures as a child, I guess you had barbies.

I follow some kind of unwritten gospel.
Main = Male Alt = Female.
Then you get the balance.

This.
I suppose age is major factor in choosing the gender of your character. While kids feel like playing the hero, adults have other "needs". And of course some Caldari male avatars look like sissies. hahah

Originally by: the article Finally, IÆll actually want to play all the different classes, if only to see my character selection screen decked out in glorious female forms. No longer will one class be neglected because I find the male grunts of pain or overly muscly physique unappealing. Who cares if the Barbarianess is built like a truck! Or that the Witch Doctorette looks like some kind of man-sacrificing psychopath! TheyÆre girls! And IÆd gladly watch them dashing about with their pendulum hips and copious swaying any day.
Sounds like this guys decisions are of a purely sexual nature. Is it healthy to be thusly obsessed over character gender? -omg-

heh, writer has a point. athough I usually use male characters in games to, as writer pointed out, be "myself" in there, sometimes I just can't...
I remember this from KOTOR- started up the game, chose male, played for half and hour and then rerolled as female. something about that guy's running animation was disturbing- he moved his legs like he didn't had anything inbetween them or something and yeah, female characters are definitely easier on the eye

ive been making only female characters for 10 years now ^____^ Guys always looks stupid.
Ive made male characters once or twice, in games that let the males be pretty.
But honestly in most games the females are always just more well done. Take eve for example, all the males look stupid, except the minmatar with the sun glasses.
So obviously if eve was full of people who were just being sensible about things, they would all be playing females, or minmatar guy with sun glasses. Because those are just the best options.
