Well to cut a long story short i encountered my first BS today, was a 750k Gaurdian Enforcer in a Megathron. I managed to take it out and was delighted, as the Mega blew up i cheered, and 4 25k Protector Frigates warped in i was shouted for tea. So i logged off .... i came back to find my Mega had been turned into space dust! by the frigates .... WTF i was under the assumption that when you logged your ship would auto warp away?
Is this a bug? or a new "FEATURE" of the patch which ive overlooked? Im now gutted as i only recieved 44mill from insurance!
Can i petition this?

If they manage to warp scramble you before you log off, they'll tear your ship apart, piece by piece. I know Tristan flying rats used to warp scramble before patch, but never seen a 25k so may be they are the ones scrambling now. If they are inty's they do for sure.

You know NPCs are more the quiet types. They simply blow you up and laugh at you afterwards for being stupid enough to log in a damn belt.

Well what did you expect? That we start blaming CCP because their NPCs are doing what they're supposed to do and that they should reimburse you because you got wtfpwned by them after logging off right in front of their warpscrambling nose?

And you discovered this NOW??
But I must say that logging off when there were still pirates at your location wasn't such a good thing to do.
Still, the rest of you don't have to bash the guy, he just lost a battleship, doesn't matter how he lost it, it's still not fun for him so be a little nice instead.

Even an 11 yr old would have the sense to warp to a safe spot before logging.
I should know.

Nice going on destroying the NPC BS, harsh lesson to learn but never log in a belt if you're alone, you will replace the loss will just take a bit of time And yes you will autowarp away but only if you're not scrambled.
It's neither bug nor new. and no you can't petition it. Good luck earning the money to replace your mega and next time insure it and don't log in a belt. ~{When evil and strange get together anything is possible}~ A tool is only useless when you don't know how to use it. - ActiveX The grass is always greener on the other side. - JoCool |

So now in the future you will carry a few combat drones and maybe a lg smartbomb.
Hey I lost my first BS in the Rancer event and received 0.00 isk, take that 44 mil, buy a bpc, your megacyte and some of your zydrine, of course if you go for a tier one BS you'll be alot closer to replacing it, shall I suggest a Dominix; 7500 *DRONE BAY* +1 Drones per BS lvl, I find that lagging the sky with 10+ combats makes quick work of those pesky interceptors, actually you could do as well with a mix of Med and scouts.
Stop griping about server instability and go buy an EVE mug!
Additionally with the purchase of each mug you will receive two(2) invisible Elves.

Logging of to save your ship should be an exploit, but it isn't, just a lame tactic, u deserved too loose that bs, ur one of those, who would never even think twice about using lame tactics to save ur ship, u therefore deserve to die over and over

Uhm, I would also do like all I could to make sure I didn't lose my ship. As long as it wasn't an exploit or anything of course.

You really are a dumb retard arent you? You just dont understand do you? You've just jumped on the "FLAME BANDWAGON!". I logged because i was going for my dinner, i wasnt logging to save my ship, as far as i was concerned the frigates didnt pose a risk to me. Therefore im not one of those ppl who log to save their ships! i logged to go and eat

Let me try and explain some simple truths to you: 1. Never, ever log off in combat - you will lose your ship 2. Insure your battleship at all times - if you can't afford to at least insure it 100%, don't fly it. 3. It would have taken all of 5 seconds for you to warp to a planet before logging, no reason to leave your ship in 0.0 space while under attack. 4. Insulting people for pointing out your own stupidity just shows you to be immature. ----------- "Remember people: Omber is the biggest evil ever created, DO NOT let it get to you!" This week's Darwin Award goes to Omnioram for not only being foolish enough to :
a) not insure the BS; b) not warp away to a safer place before logging off.
but also telling the entire Eve community about it and expecting sympathy
If it's any consolation I also lost a BS this weekend although :
a) it was insured; b) I probably could have saved it by logging (it would have been a close thing) - however that's lame and IMHO is an exploit.
PS - yeah I know he didn't die but this is too funny not to give him the Darwin Award

I'm fairly sure that he simply had to do something important in real life at the moment and didn't want to **** around for fifteen minutes to have to log off and thought he would be safe to bail right there and then. He dared to have a real life?!? Burn him!
