Why does that msg appear in the first place? only thing i can think of is lag.
This was going through high sec as an outlaw, i know the dangers and all that. I Jumped into a high sec system in my nano-Sacrilege. i decided against going that route and turned around back to the gate. I Turned on the old MWD and burned at 2-3k m/s back to the gate sat on the gate WITHIN jump range, where i got hammered by the "Session change in progress" MSG and then the police.
Looking over my gamelogs i can see that it was precisely 20 seconds from i got the criminal within this system msg till the first NPC shot at me, which is more than enough time for me to reach the gate with well over 10 seconds to spare.
So now i'm out a nano sac due to that MSG, is this something i can petition and have a chance in hell of even getting a response? And also am i even right in asuming that this MSG is a result of lag?
I hope my lil' rant made sense.

you have the session change timer to count out before you can jump back (the same one for undocking etc.)
usual practice is to wait out about 20-30s under cloak before heading back to the gate

Or press escape, and under general settings, click "show session timer"
It then displays a cute little dial in the top left, so no more guessing

Well since I get popped out of stealth when I'm under GCC in low sec I assumed that would be precisely the same with going into empire, never waitied long enough to find out before. But ohh well live and learn, I guess I'm just SOL as usual . |

This doesn't work for me. That's ok though, I just count in my head.
OP, anything like changing ship, system, fleet position causes a session change. |

When jumping in to hi sec as an outlaw, do the following. Hold your cloak and wait 20 seconds. now find the nearest planet/belt/moon and pressed warp to 100. The small frigs will target you first and web you in to warp before the big ones scramble you. When you get out of warp press warp to either the gate you came from or the gate you are going to. The same thing will happen, you will be webbed in to warp. |

1) gatecloak is 30 sec. session change is 30 sec. sucks. 2) you can run back to a gate and jump within 30 secs just fine. for years. but when it counts, you die. |

and you have 30 seconds...at 2/3kms you would have made it back to the gate before ur timer was up. Dont petition stupidity. _____________________

Also, if your ship gets blown up. My guess is that when your ship blows up, it is the exact same thing as ejecting as far as the server is concerned. these are better known as "session changes"
