would like to see a skill and modul to make the bandwidth on the ship's cos you see on the Myrmidon the bandwidth 75mb and the drone bay of 150 you can have 5 senty's and 5 light ecm but you can only use 3x senty so i think there shud do a skill and modules for the ships like a rig

'Blank' or 'Just read the post' or 'Why bother with these titles anyway?' or 'Look, another post!' would have been equally effective...
As to the idea - no thanks. They introduced drone bandwidth for a reason, namely balance. You can have more drones in your bay than you can deploy at once; they're called spares. ___ My views may not represent those of my corporation, which is why I never get invited to those diplomatic parties... yes i no that but am saying what if you want to use 5 heavy and have sper you cant your stuck to filling your drone bay up with medum are lights all am thinking is just to make it a little bigger just so you can fly 5x heavy at lees

Supplemental Drone CPU
Drone Bandwidth +10 Mbit/s
Low Slot CPU 50 Powergrid 5
Electronics IV Drone Interfacing III
Sounds good? It'd be quite similar to a damage mod.

or even have it the same as one of the drone upgrade modules yeah
Drone Bandwidth +50 Mbit/s that will give you x2 heavy drone so if your bandwidth is 75Mbit/s you get your x5 heavy's
hight 0r mid CPU 50 Powergrid 5

If i remember correctly, ccp has already been toying around with that on sisi. At least some older entries in the database seem to suggest this.
Honestly, the idea is so simple, i doubt ccp hasn't thought of this.
Changing bandwidth could probably do some strange stuff to things, i'm thinking of the ishkur, myrmidon and eos specifically.
By the way, if you want to change bandwidth, be sure that you include a way to increase dron bay too. ----------------------------------------------

Greetings,
Originally by: Batolemaeus Changing bandwidth could probably do some strange stuff to things, i'm thinking of the ishkur, myrmidon and eos specifically.
If they do this, then they better allow any ship to use it and adjust the drones deployed to be bumped as well, otherwise they get back to one of the stated reasons for the drone bandwidth to begin with.
Personally, I doubt they will do this for the simple reason that it would completely unbalance certain ships.
Part of the stated goal of the Drone bandwidth was to help better balance the offensive capabilities of certain ships. By adding this module, these ships would again become overpowered, unless this module could be used by all ships. And at that point we run into even more issues.
To just maintain racial balance, they would need to boost the true drone boats to compensate by giving them the ability to launch more than 5, remember all of the true drone boats have 3 - 4 times the drone bay than they have bandwidth to manage. Now where this becomes an issue is that these true drone boats already are capped at 5 deployed drones at a time, so that would need to be boosted as well. Imagine an Ishtar or Dominix with 10 T2 Heavy drones.
When that happens, now you have these drone boats over powered compared to their direct competiton, Dominix vs Raven for example.
No, I say keep the bandwidth as it is and don't add modules to increase it, but increase the drone bay on some of these ships as CCP promised they would when they implemented bandwidth. |

dude, one of the driving ships behind bandwidth was the myrmy. it could tank like the ****ens, and still field 200DPS from a full set of heavies. |

You seem to miss that drone bandwidth modules will require a fitting slot. So you'll have to choose between a little bit increased drone bandwidth or another tanking mod.
It'll function in a similar way as damage mods do, using up tank, mostly, for slightly increased damage. Powergrid usage could be increased to keep frigates from fitting them or cause a rather crippled frigate.
Main purpose would be to allow pilots to squeeze in a fifth drone or to upgrade drones a size, for example upping the 40 of a Exequror to a 50 or the 15 of a Moa to a 25.
Sure you could fit 5 of them on a myrm to have it field 5 heavy drones but then it won't be able to tank much. Also some ships won't be able to fit enough drones in the drone bay for a increased bandwidth, so those would require one or more additional modules for a higher drone bay.
Drone bandwidth and drone bay extenders aren't modules that can't be balanced. The argument of overpowered is very weak when no attempt at balancing is even done.

you should better train drone interfacing - 5 heavies should do more than 400 with decent skills...

my point, right there folks. - PvPers always say "GB2WoW". the message is that EVE is hard, and people just need to deal with it. wasn't it funny how when nano's started making it hard for *them*, that all went out the window? |

Not at all. What you are missing is that very few ships actually care about their tank anymore unless they are ratting. Alpha strikes, which is what this would aid have gotten to the point where the true drone boats are better paid going for maximum offense these days.
Quote: Drone bandwidth and drone bay extenders aren't modules that can't be balanced.
True they can be balanced, as CCP demonstrated by creating drone bandwidth, but that is not a good reason to add them, thereby unbalancing the game, to figure out how to balance them.
Quote: The argument of overpowered is very weak when no attempt at balancing is even done.
The argument for these modules is even weaker when there is already balance. While I hated losing the extra drones on my Myrmidon, it made sense and it did balance this boat. |

Well, not if you make it a high slot module that gives you 10 MBit bandwidth, to add two heavy drones you'd need another 50 MBit, equaling 5 high slots.
It could work, but actually CCP wanted to reduce the number of drones also due to lag iirc. |

If u made thes mods low slot or medium slot they would balance out against tank, as losing a low lowers tank power and losing a mid lowers tank stability ( on armor tanked ships).
and on shield ships they use there lows for damage mods already so whats the difference if it's a drone doing damage over there other weapons [ other than lag :P ] and if it was a mid slot then it reduces shield tank power as well.
the concept of these modules balances itself. |

Drones are a lot more powerful than they should be and you just don't know it as the damage they are dealing is only reported to the person receiving the damage.
Only 200 DPS from drones = 500,000 skill points in drones.
Top damage dealer in a fight is usually the one fielding 5 ogre2s by many 1000s of dps. For a T2 weapon, they suffer no ner***e for starters. Does releasing T2 drones make your ship slow down, your tracking dive or your cap recharge really slowly? Hrmmm no, T2 drones have nothing but PLUSES to em.
Having MORE of these on the field with no counter balance just concentrates all sane minded players to train up Gallente ONLY.
Not that I mind, I will of course be getting around to Gallente next as I don't see any plans to nerf drones, so when I buy serious sized ships (Caps) its got to be Gallente I guess! |

dont no why ppl think by adding a bit of bandwidth your going to be able to fly lot's of drone your still limted to how meany you can fly the drone skill it self (Skill at remote controlling drones. Can operate 1 drone per skill level.) unles your fly a Wyvern or somthing and a cupple of Drone Control Unit on THEN you can use more than x5 drone

We really could do with more drone related modules, especially since there are currently NO drone damage mods or rigs (except for sentries) whatsoever.

5 heavies do at most 317 DPS on an unbonused ship.

In the 4 years before bandwidth was implemented:
CCP, can we have modules/skills/rigs that make the drone bay bigger?
Usually no answer, sometimes an actual no.
Since bandwidth the question morphed into the one this thread asks.
My guess, another 4 years of: Usually no answer, sometimes an actual no. Though we might finally get those drone bay extenders, now that they don't effect firepower anymore.
