I was doing a lvl 3 agent mission the other day with me nice new shiny 425's with thorium ammo. The first kill mission i tried i had i think a 50ker and 4 5k escort ships i warped in at 60km and start hitting them for good shots then they start to close so i started off towards them and when i reached around 35k i was lucky if i was hitting them .
On me second mission i had a 85ker and some escorts, but this time on some adive from a corp member i warped in at 60km and stayed there i DID NOT MOVE and i got some nice shots mostly all above 100 and my gunnery skills are not good.
So next time try staying still, and if you see the belt has huge roids then warp out go to a planet try again so u come in from a different direction.

well i understand u, but dont rant about a 10mil ship almost destroying a 100mil ship. Because thats all over the world today, a 10k anti-tank weapon can destroy a 10mil tank, so... hehe but i see your point, noone should be crippled without a reason God i gotta change my sig..

No it's like rock, paper, scissors if you use them properly. Battleship beats cruiser, cruiser beats firgate, frigate beats battleship.
How is this not ideal? This is the way it was supposed to be. You should be glad about it, just use cruisers with the odd battleship, it's a lot cheaper.

m8 I usually hunt rats in 0.0 in a Scorp (I've taken 2x 750K rats spawns) and i've found this Setup to be really good
4x425 Rails 2x Small launchers 1x Sensor Booster 2xTracking Comp 2x Hardeners (NPC dependant in my case Serpentis--> Heat+Kinetic) 1 XL Shield Booster 1 Shield Booster Amp 1 Large Cap Bat (Here you can change the Sensor Booster for a Web ) 2X Warp Core Stabs 1 Damage Mod 1 Power Plant Management
U'll Need Eng 5 and Elec 5 for this to work And for the Drones I preffer Wasps as their are faster than the Ogres (those new Elite NPCs are really fast)

if ccp want us to really PvE in mixed fleets then something need to be changed, becouse a cruiser will get wtfpwnt in a battleship spawn...

A single cruiser might, but when you make sure your cruiser is not the first to arrive, and that it doesnt get closer then the BS, It'll be fine afaik. NPCs aim for the closest enemy, and for the first.
I could imagine a BB or two would come in handy _______________________________________________

I have been solo hunting NPC's in 0.0 in a close range tempest setup since the last patch and apart from running out of ammo on a 3 1mill BS spawn had no real problems.
Its more to do with correct ammo and how you setup your ship now.
The 3 1 mills got me down to structure and almost no cap at one point but a bit of cap juggling and heavy drone use got me through with all 3 dead :)
Its a lot more fun than the old kill them at range and they dont stand a chance.

I'm more frightened of the frigs than the battleships now when hunting. Not so bad alltogether though, I find that if I move in one direction for a while (miles away from the belt) the elite npcs just bug off. ------------------------------------------

I've actually started to use a smartbomb and webber on my Scorp when solo hunting- seems to work a treat vs Serpentis and Angels.
Gin is my co-pilot. |
