That's what I thought, but CCP clamped down on it within hours of it becoming public knowledge. I believe it was small patch snafu.
So, must have been guy logged in your belt or something.

Prob logged at a safe.
However,
I got into a fight with a bs a while back and he dissapeared from local so i thought it'd be an easy kill, his ship keeps shooting at me so i warp out and back in. When i get back there he targets me and begins shooting me again whilst not in local. Could have been lag or something of the sought but thought it worth mentioning. Just incase the local abuse has come back somehow.

My guess.... either:
a. You got predictable.....
b. He had an alt friendly to you in a cov-ops in system to monitor his log-out spot.

As others have already said, I too suspect he logged off in your belt and was lucky to find you (or had a cloaked alt or corp member nearby). Unlucky.

I do this all the time. I come into system, scan them down and warp to the belt they were in. Of course, since even battleships can warp in a just a few seconds they are always just leaving when I warp to them.
The solution? Log off in that belt, wait a couple minutes and log back in. Presto, they're usually sitting there waiting for you. |
