Now, I'm not one to lavish praise on games usually. However, it's been a full 30 minutes and I'm stil running on adrenaline from a truly awesome experience which I think you can only get in a game like this one.
We were in a gang of about 8 pilots in small ships- me in my Arazu. We engaged a big-ass fleet of large ships- mixed battleships and cruisers- on a gate in 0.0. Both of us thought we had the advantage, I was desperately trying to keep all my damps focused, monitoring my drones, swapping targets to cover people in trouble- it was freaking awesome. The fight ended with us getting an inty and them deaggressing, but I'm pretty sure it went on for a good 5 minutes. It felt like an hour. My favorite bit was watching my armor evaporate with one volley of heavy missiles and be remote repped up... like watching a game of very deadly Pong. How close do they get to structure THIS time?
Epic fight, good fun and good times were had by all. One of the best fights I've ever had in this game, and I was literally laughing- like a madman, seriously, I think my wife thought I had finally lost my freaking mind- while assuming (planning for how I would replace it!) that I was going to lose my (very expensive) ship and not caring, because...
I was having so much goddamn fun. Win or lose, it was awesome.
That's why I love EVE. And I regret I didn't get into this side of it sooner.
Props to both my gangmates and our opponents. This ain't CAOD so I'm not naming any names, but they know who they are. o7

Although I usally end up in a pod  I know where you are coming from and I too enjoy the game enormously (if only I had more time I could enjoy it even more!)

It gives me a rush every time. I've even stopped worrying about getting blown up so much (A hangover from being a carebear).

Sonds like both gangs were very well equiped,
the close fights are always the funnest ;)

Glad you had fun. The best fights arent the ones with huge numbers and caps, its the small ones with a variety of combat options :)
First kill is always the best :D

Great to hear you experienced the 'real' fun of EVE, everything else (making isk activities) is just the 'necessary evil' grind.
Just make sure you are numb to death/podding and always remember the 1st thing to do when you appear in your medical clone is upgrade your clone insurance!!
This way, you'll smile even when you do die.
There again, there really is nothing more satisfying / comical for the people that kill you to hear you cried like a baby about the loss.
EVE is a big universe, there are spies on every TS/Vent server. That too is part of the game.

This is complete BS.
TNA is an alliance full of AFK cloakers, you do ganks and run away from numbers reaching 50% parity.

Aye, it was a blast. I was half in the bag by the time I posted this on my way to bed, so got the numbers wrong- it was 10v10, it seems. A lot of fun was had, I assume by both sides, but we sure enjoyed ourselves.
