I was thinking about how to fit my Abaddon and I kind of realised that the bigger the gun, the better. Aren't tachyons awesome? But I looked at tachyons and they didn't really have enough ooomph for me. I came up with this:
Highs: 1x 6x2500mm Repeating Artillery I
Meds: 4x TC II (3 with tracking scripts, 1 with optimal range
Lows: 7x RDU II
Rigs: 3x ACR I
I think it's a pretty solid setup. Any thoughts?

All I have to say is, "uhhhhh...."
That's an orginal setup to say that least. I wouldn't recommend PvPing with that, missions versus better equipped NPC Battleships might be a little annoying (to hard, depending on skills).
Personally, I'd say Large Beam Lasers, not artillery (or whatever your turrets were). I know lasers eat your caps like candy but they are more built for your ship than you might think. I'd throw on resist membranes (or hardeners, your choice) and a few large repairs (2 maybe).
I really don't know what your going to expect from your setup, and it might work... or get you to lose a ton of cash...
Good Luck flying that thing. o7

Sounds fun on paper. However you can no longer fit any module with a volume of 1,000 m3 or larger on any sub-capital ship.

that's idiotic. I wanna see that giant autocannon mounted on the side of the abaddon.

Well it is just as idiotic as being able to ship a freighter full of minerals on a frigate.
If you allow capital modules to be fitted to sub-capital ships, you allow several million m3 of minerals to be shipped by a carrier in a single trip.

He meant a maintenance bay full of frigates with offlined capital guns on their highslots (and so on).

A carrier can hold 30 Merlin's.
Each Merlin used to be able to fit 4x Jump Portal Generator, 4x Capital Shield Booster, and 2x Capital Armor Repairer.
Thats 982,138,680 units of Tritanium and 314,416,860 units of Pyerite per shipment.
There were probably even more effecient load outs than that.
Have fun trying to match that kind of volume with a dread. Loading it into a freighter is a challenge after the mineral compression nerf.

Holy crap thats awesome.
who thought that up?
At op: A citadel launcher is much better anyway... :p More range, and you can fit some medium/small guns in the spare highs for anti-frig support.

Even without the volume restriction that doesn't work (or at least it didn't) - there's a limit of double maximum powergrid on offline modules (or, as I say, there used to be). --

With less than 100 DPS there is absolutely no point in fitting any XL weaponary on the abaddon.

Edited by: Pooned alot on 03/10/2008 21:52:07 I dunno, there have been some LOLfit's for the baddon to fit citadels and giga pulses which in a 150+ range actually work, specially against sniper BS due to the fact they are usually sitting still and have no tank.
I dont reccomend using these fits as anything but for giggles but tagging an untanked sniper with a citadel, or getting a crit with a capitol pulse is quite spectacular, E-wood for hours. Not to mention the LOL's from the fit itself in fleet OR the reaction of red jumpouts cause all they saw was a single citadel go off

Only when undocking.
AFAIK, that does not apply to loading the frigates into a carrier, but I have never tested it.
The powergrid limitation is still there, so undocking with battlehip weapons on a frigate, but you can still fit them in your hanger for laughs. |

He exceeded 75k pg by devoting all his lows and rig slots to powergrid. "6x2500mm Repeating Artillery I" is the name of the extra-large artillery cannon. The "6x" is just for flavor. It's not actually six individual guns. 6x2500mm means that it's a 2500mm autocannon with six barrels. |
