I am thinking they are releasing "news" bits concerning the jove parts trade ins beginning with the race that turned in the least.
Thats the way it appears.
I bet when the rewards are handed out, their will be an RP news item concerning the minmatars (whom I suspect came in second) and the Caldari (who won).
Until then just chill. I'm guessing their busy with the patch to fix the patch, thats what the holdup is.

Edited by: Matt Ivresse on 22/06/2004 23:07:50 Erm, actually, the Gallente came second, not the Minmatars. Caldari got their mention 1st, then Gallente 2nd, then Amarr, so Minmatar came last.
If you actually followed the whole collection event with the entries in the events forum, the polls, etc. etc., the Gallente were very close to the Caldari in 2nd place, with the caldari winning due to the fact that they're more numerous than the Gallente (who, in turn, are more numerous than both the Amarr, and the Minmatar). Not that I'm doubting the devotion of the Caldari players handing the parts in, but they did have that slight advantage over us.
But I didn't really hear much of the Minmatar effort, to be honest. Whereas the Gallente have the Gallente Union, the Caldari have the Caldari State alliance, and the Amarr have PIE Inc, what did the Minmatars have? So that's probably why we've heard no official news about their entry... ---------------------------

Apparently we actually came 3rd and the Amarr came last but still no mention. Don't worry its just typical racism against minmatars, happens everywhere in eve and on the galnet. Most are blind to it but we arn't. -----------

Well, CCP did note that Caldari had more players and as such we had to get more lots in just to equal the same as any other race. This has been done to death IMO, it was fair and each race had an equal chance. At the end of the day, it was the playerbase acting together. But I think we'll all agree to disagree on that.
As a player, I actually expected the Gallente to win. The Caldari won due to a relatively small numbers of people (<100) donating substancial values of isk to be used to buy in parts from all players. At last count it was over 1 billion isk donated and spent. The gallente effort actually got more parts from donation than the Caldari I believe. *shrugs*
I will agree that the Minmatar (PRM) and Amarr (CVA) efforts weren't all that well publisised on these boards and probably lent to people not knowing about their efforts. I was keeping as close an eye as i could so that I could post the minnm/amarr efforts on the FAQ, but . . well, the Caldari and Gallenete ones were better organsised so the race was between them.
It would be nice to get a story about the Minmatar and the Caldari to round things off and publicise the efforts of the collectors in the ETC and Oracle.

There's one thing I find odd about the whole thing though. The Jovians already had a fully made clone, but the only thing missing was a proper brainscan/working brain (hence why the clone failed). Why didn't they just bring all the Cerebral slices in together and just stick it into the clone, instead of gathering up all the bits of bone, blood and epidermis which quite frankly weren't needed?
Well, what do I know about science anyway...

Maybe they use nano-bot based enhanced neural networks which are infact spread through the entire body. Or maybe they're just ebil-minded sods who wanted to see us scurry about like rats. I know which one i plumb for.

Has anyone here actually checked the jove standings towards the races recently? It clearly show they like the minmatar best and the amarr worst. I do not know though if the standing changes that were supposed to happen after the batch collection have taken place or not. But we are the favored race of the jove (and me most of all with standing of 5.19) cheers |

Minmatar and Jove have no relation (why would they to slave dogs with scrap ships?). Caldari are the favored race... read Jovain Wet grave pod tech came to Caldari first... Caldari also use some of the Tube reprocution method "Tube Children" Jova and Caldari have alot of the same respects in the game and have always been the closest...

minmatars could revolt thanks to the jove though, so they must love them :).
And claiming racism on forums for a race that doesn't exist? I think you getting the roleplay a little to far. Besides as far as I know most devs play minmatars anyway. The poor misguided fools.
