My alt account expired a few days and I've been trying to re-subscribe to it but each time I try using 3 different credit cards I just get the meaningful message of "Error: Not authorized".
So I filed a petition. And waited. And waited.
How long do you think it's reasonable to wait before I just give up? And if I can't re-activate you can't have my stuff

Mmm, tricky question. But if you're in a hurry, then i suggest to buy a 60-day GTC and charge your alt account with it. It'll give enough time for CCP to fix the problem.

They are also not handled by billing specialists like the billing queue. I don't know why you'd want a non specialist dealing with sensitive issues like that. Nor do I understand why you are recommending people file non-stuck petitions into that queue resulting in stuck players having to wait longer.
But live and let live, each to their own.
Wouldn't expect any favourable results from it though.
Billing issues are complicated. A lot of due diligence to be done as I'm sure you can appreciate.
