This morning I logged on and thought that I should fly my beautiful rupture cruiser from the Hemian system to the XX9 system. The journey started smooth and things looked quiet.
But not for long.....
As i warped into a jumpgate in the Hemian system I spotted a Player with a Blackbird cruiser. He was aggressive and locked on to me immediately. I responded by locking on him and launching Fireburst missiles to soften his shields. A blackbird cruiser was no match for my Rupture so I went into battle with my 2*flamestrike rocket launchers, 650mm, 720mm and 2*200mm Dual scout guns blazing. I saw him engulfed in explosions and flames as I damaged his shields and armor severely. The Blackbird cruiser is no close combat fighter, rather a jamming platform which I soon found out.
Suddenly he jammed my weapon controls and I had to lock on him again. In a few more seconds he started to jam my propulsion so I could not move. In that second I realised that something was wrong, too late as 3 more Players locked on my systems. With weapons and propulsions jammed there was nothing more for me to do that try to warp out, to no avail. Warp drives were jammed also. So there I was, watching my beautiful cruiser going down in flames, so close to the gate I could almost touch it.
In a huge explosion I suddenly found myself in the escape pod, a easy pick for these guys. Seconds later I was dead.
Fortunately I had a A++ clone and had no loss of skill points.
He he, such is the life in Eve. you either win or loose :D

Just curious. Why didn't you warp your pod outa there? I've had the misfortune of having my ship destroyed once. (Dumb idea to take my first punisher into 0.0 space right after buying it)I was warp scrambled and didn't stand a chance. Once my hull started falling I just kept repeatedly trying to warp out and the very second my ship blew my capsule jumped straight into warp before I could even see any explosion. Made it seem to me like it would be pretty easy to avoid getting podded. Maybe I was just lucky?

Believe me I tried hehe :) They even jammed my sunglasses hihi. Fact is that it was fun ;) They podded me before I could warp.

Guess I just got lucky then. :) That makes me alittle nervous about future encounters. (As if I wasn't already)But hey, what good is exploration and adventure without some fear of danger.
