All windows XP PC's and above have DEP by standard and in Vista your not even able to add the game exe to the exceptions list. as i said before - if you require a dump, then just say... this happens atleast 6-10 times a night so i have pleanty.... rofflesausage	Posted - 2008.10.10 14:05:00 - [6] For Vista: bcdedit.exe /set {current} nx AlwaysOff At an elevated command prompt. It'll disable DEP totally so you can play the game without issue until its figured out.

Something anyone with half a brain wouldn't do which is why, i assume, you asked for a solution that didn't require turning it off, which unless i'm mistaken, is what you just did Dep issue here. -------------------------

DEP just offers another level of protection against certain buffer overflows. If you're running code that could be used for a buffer overflow attack, DEP is the least of your worries (The main one being, why the hell are you running the code?!) Sure, don't turn it off unless you really have to, but the world won't end if you do.

D air	Posted - 2008.10.14 11:22:00 - [13] Yep, I bought a new vid card thinking the reason for the crashes was heat/hardware. Changed out the card, and still crashes randomly. Swapped out all the memory trying to isolate it. Next resort was cpu / MB So looks like its an Eve Issue after all. Main Problem is running multi clients. It started with 1.1 and getting worse with each new patch.

I googled the phrase A problem caused this program to stop interacting with Windows. UAC is User Account Control, the anoying popup window that appears now and then on Vista machines. You can turn it of, but it's not really recommended. One thing you can try is to right-click the EVE icon and under Properties choose "Run as Administrator" (it might help, even if you're logged in as Admin already).
Oscon Ghil	Posted - 2008.10.16 13:49:00 - [19] I'm having the same problem, and i've tried all the solutions found here. It worked last night (i played for hours). But today it crashed again, just 10 minutes after i logged on. I got similar rig as the OP, and i'm forced to play in safemode. :\| It might be a nvidia drivers bug? I recently reactivated my account, but i had no problems earlier, even after the premium graphics patch. I'll try installing older drivers and see how it goes.
