When i joined this game some years ago i was fascinated by the freedom of action in the PVP category, i soon found out that you could pod anyone if you wanted to, mercenary wars and all was an ordinary sight, and all them whiners could do was either get some way of fighting back or just plain sit in station and whine.
Now a recent event made me laugh/worry, basically some s****in a pubblic channel got all tough albeit being a noob and i decided as usual that i'd pod him once just to add his corpse to my collection, he then proceded to insult me and my family, then contacted me through his new CEO, who threatened to petition me for harassment (even if he wasnt involved) and the culprit actually wanted to meet me in RL to "sort this out like men" lol, well, all that happened is that the day after he pleaded guilty in convo with me and said he's sorry, me, feeling pity for the poor imbecil said that i accepted his apology but that wouldnt save him or his corp from a wardeck.
Today i receive an evemail from EVE System..... official warning for harrassment... WHAT? Can i not shoot who i want anymore? What happened to the nice game that was defending the rights to pvp? WHO HARRASSED WHO? I have the convo logs still, i just met the idiot and never convoed him how can i be responsible for harrassing him??? WTF is going on with this game? should i put autoblock on and a description of how to end the wars in my BIO?
There is something cooking here, and i dont like broccoli.

Clearly you need to give chatlogs to a gm and they will obviously reverse the warning. IF it happened how you say it happened :)

I thought that in these cases they checked the chatlogs automatically or something instead of shooting off a petition, if that is tha case then i'll do exactly that.
See, i do only pvp, and that is my source of income, add a bit of extortive gameplay where i target CORPORATIONS not individuals i might aswell deck who smacktalkes me no? i just got hotheaded for a couple of mins because i felt that the carebear coalition of noobs was going to make this beautiful game into a bunnyhappy friendly squirrel eden!

As a card carrying carebear i hope they bloody don't, will be the end of EVE for sure, while i got no interest in pvp i not want to feel like everytime i undock i'm safe from it and if someone wants to try a goad me into a fight then fair enough i either ignore it or fight back, it's my choice.
Would def say though that this corp need a lesson in not crying to gm's about someone getting podded and take it on the chin.
If they get war dec'd it up to them weather they fight or dock up but you should not get a warning for killing one, even if you kill the same one several times.

The GMs are overworked. They will do whatever the easiest course of action is with the minimum amount of effort in investigation. Not having a go here, it just what every overworked support person would do.

Petition their warning with your chat logs. I got system warnings for supposedly adding roles to corpmates to prevent them from quitting corp.
The funny part was my friend showed me his petition which said, "Please help, I have no roles and it wont let me quit my corp. Can you remove me from corp please?". The other thing was I never gave him any roles either. So he had none to be removed and none were added subsequently when he clicked "quit corp" and got the "quit roles" message.
They did zero investigating and instead opted to send me a warning when I had done literally nothing at all.
When you petition ask for clarification of what you did that they consider harassment too. Let us know the results.

The biggest issue is most people literally grief or war'dec corps for the sake of just kicking someone's ass for no reason other than...kicking someones ass.
My Corp got war'dec'ed because we refused to buy a mining permit (ha ha ha very funny jack@$$ @ corp)
Then I have a convo with one of there members.. who happens to be a rational and sane...even for a pirate.
He said all they wantted was someone to duel with.
My reaction was... then why force a war dec on us? All you had to do was ask.
It took him about 5 times before he finally caught on to my reasoning.
War Dec'ing is a common quick and dirty solution because everyone is used to being given the finger or assuming no one gives a rip so you have to force the situation.
It's not surprising that a GM decided to "warn-i-fy" you for your little chat there.
In all honesty.... I gave up making sense on the whole damn thing and just decided to make sure I don't smack talk anymore because its too easy to get Karma slapped for no reason other than stupidity.
I honestly believe YOU DID screw up.... because you said your self... your going to pod the guy for his mouth.
When in reality... you shoulda just kept your mouth shut and podded him anyway.
And even if you didn't say anything insulting.... just responding....let alone reacting...is enough.
Like its been said... turn your chat logs in and see if you can get it reversed...

These are a canned response sent out when someone complains. I know this as I sent a EvE mail to an ex corp mate one time (bad corp breakup) asking how things were, and how he liked the new system. Next thing I know, I'm getting a cease and desist EvEmail from a GM. ONE message!!!! And it wasn't even harassing. LOL.
So no they don't read them or care to, I'm sure they get hundreds of these daily.

The biggest issue is most people play chess, rugby, hearts, monopoly, basketball, etc. for no reason other than...kicking someone's ass.
What is EVE coming to when it's played like any other game??!! CCP nerf human nature!!!
