was just wondering about this, any ideas if my flashy red status means that my own side in the war will be able to still shoot me? i'll be fighting for the caldari state. do the normal rules apply here regarding outlaws or is it "overlooked" for the good of the war effort? thanx JM

um, red blinky is shot by everyone with no side effects.
i'm surprised you got to red blinky status without knowing that.
i guess you can ask the thousands of people in caldari FW to not shoot you pretty please and hope they're all cool with it.

They can shoot. I am not sure if they take a standings hit for shooting a member of their own militia though (that being different to sec status). Even then, I couldn't say how effective the standing hit would be.

Can you attack a blinky red militia member and not receive the normal standings loss that would occur?

i was well aware of the shoot on sight for being blinky red, but since faction warfare is quite new this is what i need to know, does it work like an alliance? are you blue to your militia/faction buddies? or is there no change, i.e i still remain KOS regardless of wether i'm fighting alongside them.

yes thahts what i read, it doesnt mention about sec status, but you would take a standing hit for shooting a militia member, but this is the thing does being an outlaw negate that?

In 0.0, you are KOS to everyone. There are no game mechanics that offer consequences for shooting blues or reds. All consequences for actions in 0.0 are driven by players and players alone.

The Minmatar militia seem to have lots of flashy reds so you might be OK.

You would think that people have their OV set up to put gang, corp, FW alliance, etc above that of Outlaw, thus making you not appear blinky red to them. I wouldn't count on it though.

Probably for most you will show up with a blue tag with a white star or green if you are in the same corp (works mostly like an alliance). You will STILL be blinky red though.
In the Minmatar Militia most people quickly learn to ignore the fact that you are blinky and work off the blue standings (as someone else mentioned, there are quite a few pirates in that militia  )
If anyone does shoot you they will take the normal standings hit to your faction but no sec hit.
Also, keep in mind that your allied militia shows as neutral so if you join the Calamari, anyone in Amarr militia will see you as a blinky red neutral and probably shoot you on sight.
