I know it is an odd post but for the past 5minutes, my moa has been getting blasted to pieces by a bunch of pirates. My shields went down, my microwarp for someone reason didn't work (it was sucking up power but my speed was going up and down erradically), so i chose to warp out.
I was not warped jammed, no ships in the area were capable of warp jamming me, but i couldn't warp out. The warp drive engaged and i just stood there, i couldn't shoot back as i was supposedly warping and for 5 minutes i watched pirates slowly blow chunks out of me.
What is the problem? i know people have lost cruisers because of this stupid lag? what is the problem? Main Everlasting Vendetta Veteran Member of the Stain Alliance |

Yeah sometimes its very odd. I thought it was due to asteroid gravity but it doesn't seem to be coded very well since there seems to be no logic to the distance from the roid before the gravity kicks in.
Very strange indeed.

I can feel for you as I have lost my first cruiser that way. Sometimes, it just takes time for the cruiser to turn and warp out which I noticed depending on time, location and what your flying it takes anywhere from 30seconds to 5 minutes to warp out. I noticed when I leveled out my evasive maneuverability skill that I warp out a lot faster, but this may just be a coincidence.

There were ships around me capable of stasis webifying me but none of them were using it. That still doesn't explain the 5 minute gap between me pressing "warp to" and actually warping. At the beginning of the 5 minutes, the nearest asteroid was 10k away, at the end when i finally warped out, i was 100metres away. Main Everlasting Vendetta Veteran Member of the Stain Alliance |

How much cap did you have while trying to warp? If you were out of juice you would be stuck until the cap recharged enough to warp and would only be able to warp a short distance.

When i pressed "warp to..." i had 8% on a moa, when i actually warped, i had 88%. Main Everlasting Vendetta Veteran Member of the Stain Alliance |

As for evasive manuevering and "sticking" to asteroids, you are right on both counts. Cruisers are pigs, if you are at full, normal speed (no MWD or afterburners) it often takes 20-30 to turn and engage warp. The EM skill helps you make the turn out faster.
The best way to deal with "warp lag" is to allow you ship to come to a complete stop before engaging warp (in which case you ship will do a nice pedal turn and warp instantly). The other solution is to hit warp, then toggle the MWD or afterburners on then off . . . the extra little burst of speed and agility should be enough to power into warp.
Turning your MWD or Afterburners on also works to free you if you get tangled up in a station or roids.

No I've noticed exactly what he went through and it's a bug in the program. It's been reported by many, many people and has been identified as a definite flaw. Seems to happen more often after patching of the servers. I'd hoped they had fixed this by now as I haven't had this problem in over a week, but it appears they haven't. The same flaw also effects indy ships near or around ststions; almost making them unmovable for a certain period of time. The devs are suppose to be working on this. --------------------------------------------- "People can always be counted on to assert, with vigor, their God given right to be stupid!" - Dean Koontz |
