**Sorry if this is not in the right section**
Dear CCP
Ok, so I've been playing eve for almost 2 years now. I acquired this char from my brother when it was only a few months old, since then I've been hooked. I worked away on missions and gained enough isk to run my account on GTC's, I've never spent a single dollar on EvE. Now due to recent changes with GTC's, they are extremely expensive, I do not have the time to put into eve to gain the amount of isk required to pay for 2 accounts. So I've decided the best thing to do is to run my accounts out of time (middle of the month for my carrier pilot, end of the month for my main). I will happily come back to EvE when I see GTC's back down to 350mill. Even still thats high because I use to get 90days for that, but 350mill is reasonable.
Sadly I'm sure ccp wont do anything cause im just one person but if they dont, that just gives me more time to focus on my college studies
I'm gonna miss EvE for sure, especially the good people I've met along the way, the thing thats gonna bug me is knowing I dont have a skill going
Dont ask for my stuff cause I aint given it away

How exactly did you acquire the character from your brother?
You didn't read the EULA did you...

He COULD have transferred it to his own account, but since he clearly stats he never paid anything for the game, it is very unlikely
to the OP, if you really don't want to spend money on a game, most onlinegames are not for you. Have fun in the real world

If you took the time to read, he is a college student. They are not famous for having a lot of money. Time you climb down off that horse you are on and join reality.
Ninja Edit: He said he got it from his brother. Nothing in the EULA says that another person cannot use an account that has already been created. You don't actually have to transfer shit to anyone. You are just not allowed to "SHARE" accounts. From what it sounds like his brother did not like the game and he did, so is brother stopped paying for it and he just paid for it by use of GTC's.

If YOU took the time to read, you would have seen that he kinda bragged about not having spent a single dollar on the game and THEN mentioned that he could focus on college. He made it sound like he didn't want to pay for the game, which is why we're all talking to him like he is a piece of poo

Ohman.. got to be a troll thread, just too much humor in it.
So let's see; * You aquired the account in a manner you shouldn't. * You've been playing for free for two years, thanks to a system introduced by CCP that you either love/hate; to some (like you) it's very generous. * Posting a whine thread about quitting because you can't stomach the prices set by supply and demand by players, not regulated by CCP?
I wonder if you're a college student, would think you'd have at least some basic understanding of how economy works, and basic knowledge of what a legal agreement (EULA) functions as well. At the very most you're a mid-highschool student, ..or, more likely, a troll.
I'll be generous, 3/10.

Read the 2nd sentence of the first line in my first post....... "character" not account.... unless everyone in the char selling forums is breaking EULA rules, then i guess i am too.

Now you clearly indicate that you were not following the legal character transfer rules, which would have let you get this character without paying. You are now telling everyone that you did in fact break the EULA by using this account to post with. Good job. Who's the noob now?

That was actually my point. In the first post, you said you got this char from your brother. Fine, he could have transferred it to your account. Then you said you aquired the ACCOUNT. Major difference there. And that's your downfall. You have clearly stated that you aquired the account, which makes you in violation of the EULA, regardless of how many times you now claim it was only the character and that your brother paid the fees, making it a legal transaction.

Originally by: PR0PAGANDA i agree that gtc card situation sucks. with current out of game global economics i suspect this will force many none addicted from eve. the casual gamer will be the ones to leave or atleast until lag is fixed, better stuff is added to recapture the player base or rl world economics straighten up. i am guessing you are not having fun in game either do to the fact that bob is spanking your alliance also. the further putting a hardship on NC players trying to play eve with Gtc.
can i have your stuff?
actually the fight against bob is very entertaining, but rl issues and college are taking over all my free time, thus... less time to play eve, less time to make isk. So I simply cant afford it. Im sure im not the only one who is in this situation.

I should have said that CCP isn't losing any of your money. Most likely the GTC suppliers will still be buying the same number of GTCs regardless of whether you quit or not. If anything, the price of GTCs will increase the demand for them causing GTC suppliers to increase their stock. The only money that CCP will be losing is the money they lose from subscribers switching from credit-card to ISK bought GTCs.

In order for this to apply, a significant number of people would have to quit buying GTCs. I doubt the GTC market is responsive enough to be effected by a single person quiting. I don't know much about economics, but it would probably take at least a hundred people quitting to do that. And even then, it wouldn't cost CCP much. I suppose in the end only CCP has the information needed to confirm or deny that their sub numbers are declining.
As for myself, I believe that EVE is still growing, and that more new players are joining than old people leaving.

Dear CCP
Ok, so I've been playing eve for almost 2 years now. I acquired this char from my brother when it was only a few months old (within EULA regulations), since then I've been hooked.
Since you've "never paid CCP a dollar" even though you've been "hooked", why should they give a rats ass?

I'm supprised that more people have not been saying to bring back that 30 and 90 day GTC's back or at least the 30 day one's to bring back some veriety to the market. And if the 30 days don't sell well because people want more time and bring down the price on those it still might bring the market price down seeing 30 days selling for that much then 60 2x or 90 3x that price.

SO I want to be sure I understand this. The OP is upset because he is unable to play a game for free that is actually a game meant to be paid so. So since he will have to do like most people and actually help PAY for the game he feels he must quit until CCP will let him play for free again? CCP must do this BTW by actually doing something against the best part of this game and forcing an economic change to the player run economy.
Wow, all I can say is please quit and do it fast, the entire IQ of the game is falling while you are here..

I'm sure many of the game's traders could explain this very well. Microeconomics ftw. Supply and demand. As the demand for gtc goes up, the price goes up. This causes a shift in the supply as some people are like hey, that is a lot of isk, guess its worth it NOW to buy my isk. The market then settles into a new equilibrium with a higher price and higher quantity.
I suspect that when they removed the 30-day gtc they removed a not insignificant amount of supply. The reason being $20 worth of isk os much easier to justify, whereas $40 worth of isk might be more than ppl want to put into isk. Thus the price went up to satisfy demand. Is this good or bad for CCP? I can't tell. depends if lots of people are quiting then no, but if lots of people are switching to credit card then ccp has lost some revenue, but it probably isn't significant and might be counteracted by increased gtc price.
and tbh, I think quiting over the money is pretty dumb. If you enjoy eve you can make sacrifices in other areas. So really you aren't giving the right reason for quiting, you are really quiting because you have found a better sue for your time. After all you can still earn the isk in 60-days if you absolutely had too (equates to tens of cents on the hour though if missioning).

gtc's will keep increasing in price, i dont think they will ever go down in price, it will always be an upward incline. Reason being is the damand will always be the same. People will buy them no matter what because they need them. Until people refuse to buy them (me). In 6 months to a year time, i bet they will hit 700-1 bill. Sounds high but I wouldnt doubt it. Anyways, I've found a way to get some gtc's for 350mill, so looks like ill be stickin around for 2 more months.
