I read guides and such and they talk about mining solo in 0.0 space, but is that even still a viable thing todo? Or are PC rats gonna jump in warp scramble me? I know I may not be in the right area to ask this question, but I was just wondering.
So I guess my question is this:
Is it still viable to solo 0.0 mine? Or is it too dangerous or not worth the risk? Solo mining 0.0 tips or advice if you have any. Thanks.

It's a little bit like asking "Is it safe to walk alone, at night, in the city?"
Answer obviously depends on where you are and who owns the place. But, truth be told, comparing the profit of trying to sneak in a bit of mining, and sneak the ore out for reprocessing/selling, with the profit of mining Veldspar in Empire... the answer is probably "no."

This. If you can't refine it or sell it safely in nullsec, you can't profit from it, plain and simple. But... sneaking into nullsec to mine the good stuff is a hell of a lot of fun, especially for younger players. I have fond memories of doing it myself.
Take for instance the time I first encountered Arkonor. I consulted an out of game guide that listed the systems where such ore could be found (specific systems, not just security status, as Ark and some other high-enders don't appear in every nullsec area) and set off in a Miner II-fitted Burst. I failed to note the size of each piece of Arkonor (16 m3), so this venture was actually doomed from the start. I managed to safely make it all the way out to Cloud Ring, then the residence of Goonswarm. I mined like 20 pieces of ore and realized I had made a huge mistake. I warped over to the neighboring system, with a station that served as a Goon base of operations, and kindly asked them to pod me, since I was like 60 jumps from my home space in Empire. They declined to do so for like ten minutes. I even sat amidst a blob of them outside the station until they finally decided to gank me. Incidentally, this was also my first encounter with the Swarm. Good times.

Typical of the Goons - they never do what you want them to do, even if it's seemingly the most logical course of action for them (or should I say, especially if it's the most logical action).
Back to the OP: This was the cause of my first ever ship loss on this character, back when I was a solo newbie. I got comfortable moving in and out of a particular low-sec system, mining and moving the ore. Fairly soon, some pirates must have noticed a lot of jumps and come over to the gate.
So if you're going to mine in low-sec or 0.0, don't drop your guard. ______________________ Isn't it time you learned to fight back? Agony Unleashed Home of the PvP University.

You've got to mine a huge amount of high-end ores to get the value for your risk. Arkoner is 160 times more volume than Veldspar, so you need to make many trips to get enough to refine to make it worth your while.
Each trip out to a low-sec or 0.0 belt will add a few more grey hairs and 1-2 oz. of stomach acid. Your adrenalin will crank up, and you'll be as jumpy as a cat in a room full of rocking chairs. You'll wonder if the 8 pilots in local are searching for you, and yours eyes will constantly flit from your cargohold, overview, and local.
Make sure to drink a lot of coffee so your nerves are ready to explode into action immediately when anything changes.
Contrast this with high-sec mining, where you can meditate to the sound and sight of mining lasers and watch your cargohold and containers fill up without a care.
Your choice.

First you need to be in a corp that owns or have rigths to mine in 0.0 and that corp must have either a station with refinery or a POS. You can mine with decent profit from start provided you get into a mining gang where someone else is tanking, otherwise you pretty much need to buy a hulk which can both tank and mine. The other option for solo miners is to mine in a battleship but if you got a battleship you are better off ratting instead. The last option is ninjamining in a system where someone else is ratting, pick roids in each belt and when the ratter has killed the spawn you go in and mine into the cargohold of your mining barge or mining cruiser. In a covetor you can bring in decent amounts of ore each haul that way.

you can ninjamine or solomine in 0.0 allright.
the main issue is logistical. for it to be worth it, you need a spot closeby to stash the ore untill you have enough to do a few refines.
surviving is pretty easy, just get lost when someone shows up in local, and pick a system with zero npc kills in last 24hrs from the map to mine in. That'll be a system noone ever goes to.

Hi,
The easiest solution is to join a small corp with an alliance in zero sec. That way you get access to the stations for the refining. Even if they tax you and/or charge you a percentage or your mining ore/mins its still worth it. (My first mining op netted me 16 million isk!)
If you dont want to do that you'll need to stash a GSC somewhere nearby and put the ore into it. ie Warp between one belt to another. Mid way warp presss CTRL-SPACE to stop warp. Then choose a really far away planet or moon and Warp to it. Mid way pres CTRL-SPACE again. BOOKMARK this location and then drop and SECURE WITH A PASSWORD your GSC.
Now use this as the location to warp to. Of course those with good Exploration skills may be abvle to find it or you when your at the GSC but its a risk you take - (of course there are a lot less people in zero sec so you might get away with this for a while - or not...)

This won't work - mid way you have to drop a bookmark and then warp back to the bookmark. From that place, warp somewhere else and drop another bookmark mid way, then warp back to the second BM.
You can't just stop warping half way, once you start to warp you're in warp until you a) get where you aimed for or b) run out of capacitor (you'll get a warning as you commence warp stating you don't have enough cap to make it the whole way).
Dumping cap is another way to stop mid-way and make a mid-safe, but pressing CTRL-SPACE in warp will not stop you.

Yeah, the end results of my experiments with non-high sec solo mining are that it's cheaper to just buy the minerals you want if they aren't high sec minerals.
Someone with the proper organization got those minerals and brought them to high sec.
Without that organization you are probably a lot better off mining high sec ore, selling it or the refined minerals - and using the money from that sale - to buy your rare minerals.
It isn't that you can't do it. It's that you spend so much of your time flailing away at aspects of the adventure - that aren't producing ore - that you could have mined much more than enough high sec ore to just buy the same amount of non-high sec ore that you managed to mine.
As a solo adventure - it's fine. As a profit making adventure - it's a waste of your time.
Get the organization to support you - and all that changes.

I'd have to agree......when I joined my first 0.0 organisation, I was mining in a covetor in empire and had about 100m ISK in the bank. I moved to 0.0 made 42m ISK in my first mining operation with them in about 2.5 hours and a corp carrier jumped all my zydrine up to Empire for me. After my second corp mining op, I bought my hulk.
