If the bank crisis gets to the point where it's taking down internet spaceship companies, it isn't going to matter who owns it. Fortunately, that's virtually impossible. ------------------ Herschel's Lottery #1 - Win a Kronos! |

I'm worried about the wonderful employees at CCP in REYKJAVIK. I'd like to bring to everyone's attention to the markets. Become a pirate without fear of death!

Of course we all heard such comments that the banking industry was in no danger from sub-prime debt investment vehicles and we all know how that panned out, hmm?
With the influx of liquid cash from a number of countries the entity called CCP is liquid. But that is dependent on getting credit to pay large short term outlays such as payroll and hardware upgrade projects. If the banks pucker up and horde cash you can't get credit period. No credit, no day to day business. ________________________________________________ It is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion,

CCP income = Euroes, USD, AUD etcetc
CCP pay = ISK
???
profit!
Well...not really for the employees. But heck, might as well just pay them in Euros. Besides, CCP is liquid since we all pay for subscriptions continuously.

You're assuming a whole bunch of other currencies don't de-value making the subs cost not overly attractive.
Also, they are possibly only liquid for normal BAU operations - there may be trouble if they actually needed credit - like for major hardware upgrades etc.

If everybody devalues then it's all good, as imports will be relatively cheaper: the devs still get to eat.
And I hardly think if CCP doesn't get that new blade server or whatever the company is going to go bust.
