I love it. It's kind of a slow starter, but it really grows on you. That guy from Dawson's Place is actually quite good in his role, and you can't help but love the one from LotR, especially since he has such an interesting and fun character. The blond is kinda so-so; I mean, she's not even as hot as the guy. What has TV become when the male is sexier than the hot blond female?
Kidding aside, it's been pretty good so far. It's definitely a rip-off of X-Files, but it doesn't really seem to care. It embraces its foundation and runs with it. The aliens are gone, replaced with an entirely terrestrial conspiracy. And it really grips you the way X-Files did in the beginning, only maybe a little bit more quickly. They don't bother with the side stories that take away from the conspiracy, but this could also be a downside, since those were some of X-File's best episodes. Only time will tell.

To me it was.. so so.
It kinda felt like an episode of Bones but with a heavy dosing of, as you say, X Files.
The skin melting was pretty hardcore though, when that dudes jaw dropped off i was like "oo. juicy". If there was more skin melting promised I'd definately be up for it.
For serious, I'm not sure if i'll follow it, it didn't really seem to have a lot going on, i'm sure it'll pick up though, typical JJ Abrams style.

I'm just waiting for it to reveal that the Conspiracy is MJ12 and that the protagonists are working for Delta Green to stop Cthulhu, Nyarlathotep, and the Mi-Go. I mean, Bishop is obviously working on some seriously Herbert West shit, with some Mi-Go technology (the whole "synch the electromagnetic fields of the brains"-thing is sooo Yuggoth) thrown in. The main character's name is Dunham (Dunwich + Arkham), and the black dude is definitely a DG agent.
I know it's unlikely, but I'm just waiting for the thing to turn Occult like Alias.

Just started. Laughing now that I read your remarks about X-Files I was thinking the same thing while watching it.
My rating for it is currently 'hopeful'.

Well, something you can watch without puking. That's actually a compliment nowadays.

Its like a remake of X-files to be perfectly honest but given that its just started its barely gone into the story yet so im giving it atleast a season to really wow me. -------------------------------- To borrow a phrase:

Its decent, doesnt seem to have me gripped, like the X-files did/does....but the sad fact is that it's on a Cancel-Happy network. If the show can have time to grow and maybe sustain an audience it may do well. But as we all know Fox cancels shows with uber quickness. I'm not sure even JJ can hold them off. New sig coming. |

I think Fringe is one of the best shows that's been on prime time for a while. It's going to be very involved, and maybe some of those that have commented so far are simpletons (no offense), but this show goes light years beyond that corny show called "X Files".
In today's strange world, with changing events and new technology, the things they're talking about on Fringe are strange, but not quite out of the realm of possibility, which I think makes it very appealing.
I do agree though, the cast fits perfectly except for the blonde. She just isn't doing it for me, and she always has a facial expression that suggests she was constipated the night before - anyone else notice that?

I really like fringe. Any show that has some one tripping their face off on LSD in the first episode gets a +1 for style in my book. Then again maybe i jsut like J.J. Abrams, cuz i'm entrhalled by Lost, and i actually enjoyed Cloverfield Please resize image to a maximum of 400 x 120, not exceeding 24000 bytes.
