would be cool to have the icon for gates on your overview color coded depending on the security level of the system they go too. would help a lot rather than showing info on the gate and clicking the system info just to see if its low sec that i am jumping into with a neg sec status in unknown space
just like red for .4 and below and green for .5 and up
don't think it would be hard to change seeing as its just color change

OK.... Why don't you grow a set and jump blindly on through that waiting gate into the predestined gate camp where you are to die a fiery death? C'mon n00b... where's your spice for life.
This idea suxorz.

I like this idea. honestly, there is no reason why it wouldn't work. Just make a toggle for it then all you guys that don't want it can turn it off and fly blind. __________________________________________________ |

Greetings,
Originally by: Nikita Alterana I like this idea. honestly, there is no reason why it wouldn't work.
Why would we want it? We already have something better, it's called a pop-up that blocks you from going in to low sec until you hit a button. This wouldn't really do anything of value, and would instead cause yet more whining by people who jump into low sec by accident cause they didn't see that the stargate was colored for a low sec area. Additionally, seeing how many people have trouble with their overview settings, I can see this one causing more issues than the current system.

While a color coding of the stargates with a security change would be nifty, a set of red / yellow / green / blue blinking beacons at the stargate itself would serve a similar purpose without requiring too much fiddling around with the overview code.

ok, who hasnt disabled that pop up already... and who is gonna mistakenly warp to a red gate, though waypoint color would have to change somehow... lighter/darker than others?
but ya, good idea maybe even have stargates show yellow if your sec status is too low for them for the pirates

I support this idea, although it can be confusing considering that the current next AP system is yellow...so the colors may need some swapping
Either way, I support it. __________

for auto pilot you get the list of colored dots near the next system and destination system, so your still able to tell what sec the system is that your going into, but if you don't have a set destination it would be nice to know your not going into the wrong security system.

i would even go so far if it could even be labeled, in such a way letting you know your about to leave the constellation or region, and what constellation or region your going to.
kind of like Ombie's 2d maps but..... 3d.

Personally I don't think this idea goes far enough - security coding isn't enough and you should include some form of Sovereignty coding. I got my arse handed back to me by Amarr's internal version of concord because I accepted a mish that I didn't know went into their space from Gallente. Now, I was completely in hi sec but I still got the equivalent of Concorded.
Mission briefings warn you already if you're going into lo sec space, they should also warn you if you're going into territory that is hostile to you. If that could also be set up with colour coding on the overview or autonav list, so much the better.
My little faux pas is not going to stop me from gunning religious bigots out of the sky just so I can cross into Amarr space, but I should at least be warned if I'm asked to head into their turf by the same agent who sends me to kill them by the bucket-load two missions out of every three.
Just my opinion. Tim.
