This had been sort of fixed, but since the introduction of 1548 it is back in a humongous way, running 2 instance now is like playing russian roulette, while before it was working perfectly. So what's up with that any official word on this memory leak?

Glad im not the only one, before patch I could run 2 accounts with no problems at all, ever, now it seems almost impossable to get working correctly, when you alt tab 9 times out of 10 the screen just freezes.
Another thing I've noticed, which I think is related, is when I press ESC and hit QUIT the game quits, but the ESC menu screen doesnt dissapear, the only remedy is press the off switch on my PC.
My PC is P4 2550mhz, gig or RAM, geforce fx5600 gfx card, shouldnt be having any problems realy :(
Learn to adapt they say, I am I say, why do you think my Megathron has mining lazers on it now? |

After a while playing there is no memory left now, you don't even need to leave the station, the memory just disapear ... I haven't had any problem with this earlier in the game.
It is totally wasted money to have two accounts atm.
CCP, plz fix this sh** ASAP!

I use a program called Ramrocket which seems to free up any memory problems, I think you can download it from downloads.com for a free 30 day trail but i'm not sure, gotta be worth a bash. Don't try to be a great man, just be a man and let history make it's own judgements.

I use RAM Def XT because it is free from downloads.com and because it is a very small utility it will defrag your ram and while in game if you have a limit set it will auto defrag at that limit only slowing down for a minute or so to let it slim down your RAM usage then when it is done... I have a PC with 512MB Ram when it starts i would only have 50MB left then after i will have at last 192MB free most of the time though i will have 312MB

Have tried some RAM-cleaners. Not good enough... It is still not working. I hate when they do changes that make my game unplayable, before the 1548 it worked very good.
The major introductions in the patch 1548 was 1. Nearly Impossible two-accounts-playing 2. Extreme Warp-in-lag II

Having the same problem, running two EVE clients in seperate directories eats up the memory like candy. Using CachemanXP to trim my 1 GB memory (Thought that would be enough to play EVE ...).

I don't know if it's related to the memory leak, but i think so.
My pc reboots or has to reboot (due crash) after each hour of playing EVE, i'm on trial and this is seriously affecting my decision to stay or not. I like what i have seen so far but these crashes are really bothering. Rebooting 4-5 times in one playsession is not an evening i had in mind :)

A brand new Dev Blog bout running two klients on the same machine. CCP has adressed this problem! Now we only have to try those thing out and then stick the doll, by kommenting the Dev Blog :-)
Multiple EVE Clients on same machine? Tell us your magic tricks
This is a very common thing, running multiple EVE clients on the same machine. Some people never encounter any problems with this, some get occasional crashes and others need a client with build number *666 to make it work properly. Well, just kidding with the build number, but it's a good a pattern as any we can pinpoint. There are a number of tips that are very common to allow multiple clients work, here are ours, please post yours. We'll add it to our Knowledge Base article on this issue.
Oveur's Magic Formula For Multiclient Love 1. RAM is your friend. Have 666 ... uhm, I mean 512MB or more. 2. Windowed mode of course. Less resolution is better. 3. Turn off "Sun Occluded By Ships". VERY important. 4. Set priority on EVE.exe to "Below normal" in the task manager, helps both clients get jiggy with it. 5. Display and sound card drivers. The newest latest are not necessarily your best friend. Sometimes the bit older, certified friends are better. 6. Get a voodoo doll and call it Oveur. (I'm winter with some spring) 7. Stick said doll if above tips don't work for you.

Yes, those hints are only useful, if you've always had a problem. If you didn't have one before, and now you do after the patch (like me) then it points to the patch causing new problems.
Even when not running 2 clients, I used to be able to warp into asteroid fields with a bare flicker upon arrival - now it's like you just missed the train, and you have to wait for the next scheduled time before you can continue with your journey. |

Problem is that the coders get payed per line of code. So they just copy paste and compile all they have including bugs etc. This is evolution. Cant beat it.
