I just thought id share my day of stupidity and misfortune with you guys.
So, after a little bit of solo fw roaming IĘm travelling back to jita as usual in my pod to buy a new ship when I get a knock on my door. My roommate shouts, "I think your scooter is being stolen." I immediately leap up and hastily put on my running shoes expecting a chase, but my keys oh god where are my keys, it takes me a minute to find them. By the time I get outside heĘs gone my scooter in tow. I set off running aimlessly in an arbitrary direction. No luck. For a good 30 minutes I run around and canĘt find it or the shit who took it.
Eventually I go home angry and tired.
After phoning the police and giving them all the details, I settle down to my computer in the hope that a little eve time will cheer me up.
However in my haste, IĘd forgotten to dock and found myself in a fresh clone stripped of around 300 mill worth of implants. Delicious.
Anyway I go about replacing the implants begrudgingly and buy myself a new ship. I thought id treat myself to a stabber fleet issue for a little pimpage. After setting it up and cruising back into gall low-sec territory I manage to get a little action, a thorax, me and a fellow hurricane, who happened upon the engagement, dispatch him quickly. Things are looking up. But you know what they say disaster's come in threes. Once again thereĘs a knock on the door, itĘs a neighbour, heĘs found my scooter, and I immediately leap up and go to retrieve it. ItĘs a little beat up but itĘs ok. Jubilantly I return to Eve to find that IĘve made the same mistake twice. New clone, same idiot.
About 800 mill lost in the space of an hour, was nice work.

Uber noob here to MMORGs and EVE. It's comforting to know that everyone here on EVE can get their a** handed to them. IReading the forums and seeing peeps fess up to their own mistakes makes the big bad EVEverse here seem less intimidating.

I'm sorry for your 800M isk loss, but I feel obliged to point out to the audience that if you need to go AFK for an indeterminate length of time, you should log off (CTRL-Q). Yeah, it's a pain to re-login when you come back 10 minutes later, but 60 seconds (or so) of login time beats minutes-hours-days of working to recover the lost isk from situations like the OP's.

Run in windowed-mode. Just slap the close window button and you're logged off. Used this method back when my step-son was having seizures at night. |

I am sure the scooter cost you more than the ISK so all is well.
Have noticed though that sometimes when you select a station, press dock so it warps you to the station + docks that sometimes you come back to find it didn't dock you. Also heard of a friend who docked and logged off, logged back on in the morning to find he was not docked at all and lost his ship and pod >_> Does suck when real life suddenly interferes and you need to doublecheck all this.
