Edited by: Stitcher on 13/10/2008 00:52:54 ... Pilot, your attitude reminds me of somebody else. About twelve years ago, I was still serving with the Ishukone Watch, as a medic. We were called out to an armed robbery.
Turns out, it wasn't a robbery. The individual responsible had just... snapped, and decided to go out in style, taking as many people - and officers of corporate law - with him as he could. Hence he'd held up the bank, tied everyone inside to a bomb and was making threats over a loudspeaker. One of them was that he'd got a dead-man's trigger, so that killing him would set off the bomb.
The standard-issue scope on Watch sniper rifles includes a hyperdirectional microphone, keyed in to the whole team's network. I distinctly remember hearing, quote:
Hostage: "You should give up, friend. The Watch are here now." Perp: "More of them means more targets, brother. You think I care? They try and take me out, I'll shoot them too, and enjoy it."
Two seconds later our marksman, with the assistance of a gyrostabilization and sensor rig, plus run-time on a corporate quantum supercomputer to help finalize the trajectory, put a timed explosive coil rifle round the size of a grain of sand into his spinal column, between the C5 and C6 vertebrae. We were two thousand four hundred meters away, and there were three reinforced concrete walls, with a cumulative thickness of about seven meters, between us and him. The damage to his spinal cord resulted in instant, non-fatal tetraplegia - that is, paralysis of all four limbs, AKA quadraplegia - meaning he dropped like he'd been shot in the head, but the dead-man sensor didn't register him as dead, so the bomb didn't detonate.
My point in sharing this little bit of information? Don't laugh at the bigger kids, because they can, and WILL, crush you. -

PIE are the big kids now? Just because someone is bigger than you doesnt mean they can hurt you. It is a matter of being smarter than them, as you have said before. PIE has yet to show that they are.

You expect us to go out of our way to give you fights when we have a two region wide war front with the Tyrant Shakor to concentrate on?
Seriously?
If you are going to "crush us" you are going to have to do some work and learn tactics suited to the nature of the war front.
Whining about how we are not giving you the fight you deserve just proves that you do not understand the nature of your target or the nature of the theatre of operations you are now fighting in.

We understand the nature of our target, although we have a hard time adjusting. See, we've never fought cowards before
And you Gaven have absolutely no seat to speak at this table, as you have become the posterboy for cowards. Your little stunt made us pity you. Seriously? Are you going to talk down to us when we retreat to regroup, and then turn tail and run at the first sign of danger to yourself? You have already proven to us you're not a worthy adversary, which means we're just going to hunt you like the dog you are now.
Now if you don't mind, there's combat pilots having a discussion here -- shoo.
Seriously? Yes. Seriously.

Edited by: Gaven Lok''ri on 13/10/2008 02:09:18 There is little point in staying to die when your ship has failed to attain a lock due to onboard computer malfunction and has dropped to under half armor in roughly ten seconds (Battlecruisers do not fare well when primaried by entire fleets of tier 2 and 3 battleships) of hostile concentrated fire. Had the fight lasted longer before the FC called for a general disengagement I would have been back into the engagement.
Or are you saying that you have never heard of the concept of a tactical retreat?

The "tactical retreat" of 1 single ship can sometimes be confused with "running in fear". You must forgive my mistake.
That was sarcasm by the way.
edit: and I'm sure you were in half armor in just under 5 seconds actually.

Just to repeat myself: War is the art of making the other side fight on your terms, rather than theirs. If you can't do that, then clearly you are the inferior tactician.
If you can't make them come and fight you, or stick around even when they'd rather not, then you are a FAILURE as a tactician and a combat pilot. -

This unit has determined something good though. New CONCORD regulations enable one to transition to Outlaw status in one night of low security NBSI warfare.

A war dec? Seriously? Get in line.
Pilot, if you think that was a threat, you're in for a surprise. Duty. seems to be at war with EVERYONE these days and, more to the point, we enjoy it. I wouldn't be surprised if my CEO decides to make it mutual, just for giggles.
No... that's not exactly what I meant. I don't know who Duty. is and I don't care. We War Dec'd at the request of our client, because if you hadn't noticed we're pirates and war decs hardly benefit us.
I was referring to you being an overflowing encyclopaedia of PvP tactics and strategies. The sarcasm seems to have been lost on you.
Don't bother replying to this post, as I don't intend to respond to any more of yours.

I was wondering what the report of Duty pilots beeing seen in Minmatar space was about.
But I've really got to ask, why HeXstoof? I understand fighting against Ixion has been slow but that's more a fact of people being unable to adjust their shift schedules.
I'm trying to remember if they have been active in comming over to the Gallente front, otherwise I can't see what business you would have with them.

Pirates gain nothing by wardecs?
... I'd have to beg to differ on that: being able to use interceptors and ECM cruisers on gates without worrying about turret range is a major benefit. It's more that, assuming outlaw status, nothing is gained by wardeccing pirates.
It's not like they can't generally be shot, anyway.

We have our reasons for being in Minmatar space, but this is not a suitable discussion for this thread. Lets just say that Duty. since leaving the militia has partially returned to its roots.

I seem to be rather ignorant of Duty.'s past history then or that they had roots other than being Caldari patriots. I hope someone will come along and enlighten me, privately if not here.

Mr. Harrow, such a pleasure to see a familiar face. I believe you have been hanging around my back porch lately... *her voice changes to a teasing tone* are you trying to sneak a peak, you little voyeur? Next time you're in the area, see if I am connected to my Pod interface, maybe we can dance (and by dance, I do mean exchange missiles).
I have to admit, though, I am curious why someone like Duty would be interested in my little corner of the universe. Perhaps we should meet to discuss you intentions, especially if you intend on moving in "next door".
