Ok, this might sound silly. But where should I go for PvP action? I have been carebearing a bit in high sec gaining money and such, and I am at a point where the price of fully fitted cruisers or battlecruisers are of no real concern for me. Gate camping occured to me, but what about gate guns? Station camping, what about sentires? Asteroid belts's are ok, I have managed to get one kill there.
This applies both to solo and small gangs of cruisers and BC's.
I do not want 0.0 as that is mostly blob land. So low sec for now ;).
So where do I go pirating "safe" from the environment?

It's not really easy to just say here or there. The best way to find out how to judge a good PVP zone is to join a good corp that specializes in training new PVPers.

I'd say the Old Man Star pipe. You'll always get action there....just not always in your favor.

you cannot pirate safe from environment, thats the penalty.
If you want to be safe from environment only option is 0.0
Where no celestial/npc items will attack you only other players can.

No NPC police in low sec (except at FW plexes.) NPC pirates exist in all systems .8 and under.

Looking at the star map, H-WQTY looks like where the action is.

Honestly, go to EC- and fool around a bit, as long as you don't pick on the obvious baits you should be ok.
There's only one sig that matters... and that's Radius. |

Amamake and the surrounding sytems is a safe bet.
In general low sec mission hubs and bottlenecks between regions are the most populated and have the most action.
Joining a militia is an easy way to get some pvp action also.
