No, the Improved clocking device tech II BPCs that they received require a prototype cloaking device to build the Improved one.

This is not right! I would much rather have gotten a protype cloaking device then this advanced which I can't use! Also why pay alot more for the advanced version when they are not very diffrent?
penalties:
Protype: speed 1.0% Advaned II: 0.25%
Scan resolution Prototype: -50% - Advanced II -40%

Because that's how tech II works. :) It's like that when you try to build an interceptor, you need the original version of the frigate plus a zillion components to actually start the manufacturing.
Of course friggies are cheap... :)

I am sorry for those who thought they were getting something...WELCOME to all of us who thought we were getting something too!..but hey..I mean..youve atleast got the item for when you can get 125 mil to buy the prototype..right?..thats 125 mil + a tech two BPc closer to "cloaking" that we dont have..but if I were one of those people who had jumped thru those hoops that CCP dictated needed to be jumped thru inorder to get the "cloaking technology"..I would be quite miffed myself..I feel for ya.

Yeah well we where supposed to get cloacking devices 2 weeks before they where released in any other way... Having a tech2 cloacking device while only normal tech1's are out is BY FAR not as good, and kinda makes me feel like we wasted our time and effort in gathering the 2 batches  .

Negative, that was a rare serpentis drop (and no not the one we need to built these tech2 versions but slightly better then the tech2 versions already)...
Shouldnt have been there in the first place.

you got what CCP said you would get and more....
they said you would get limited run cloaking device bp's you did but you also got the cloaking skills to go with it.
quit moaning just because you dont know where to get prototype cloaking devices from and cant have a small monopoly.

Because of 2 reasons:
-We dont have the tech1 version to built em
-We where supposed to get access to cloacking tech 2 weeks before others would, releasing tech1 to general and giving us (the event participants) tech2 bpcs is totally not what was promised...

Yes, they were supposed to be first to get cloaking but now other people have to get the cloak first so that they can get a cloak to use thier bpc.

With such an 'reward' one would rather declare war on the Jove & trash the bpc than make another effort to be able to make 20 items only.
If it's gonna stay this this way, dont expect an effort in coming 'events' tof this kind.
So CCP - screw up, or just a stupid 'reward'?

how more clearly does this need spelling out?
if that is a Tech2 print you have there, then yes of course you need the tech1 item in order to build it! it is like that for other tech 2 items, why should this be different? because you want to whine a lot like a baby?
the cloaks a pile of junk anyway, whats the point, locals bugged as it is so half the time people dont show in it as it is. not just that but if you expect to sit in local channel with the cloak running listening to sensetive corporate chats then i can only suggest the corp you are "spying" on isnt worth spying on in the first place.
im so going to laugh when people start using cloaks more often and whine like big babies when they get wtfpwnd because of that very module.
if you want a prototype cloak then go kill some rats, nubs.
