It has always amused me that protagonists have effused on this forum that they will 'conquer' the north.
I have been watching this same crud for 5 years and seeing, more or less, the same forces travel up here, proclaim the same victory dance, and leave.
This time, I wonder who will be left in the north of eve and for how long... ?
And please remember, before you postulate, those of us who live in the north, will always live in the north, so if you don't really belong here, then you will be removed...

Not really, I have always lived in the North and don't really farm. Even when there were major power blocs up north there was a lot of opportunities for independents. BoB threatens that and not sure why Tri are too stupid to realize that. It is one thing to hate the NC, it is another thing to help create an environment they will loathe to live in.
I guess it is hard to reason with stupid.

Edited by: Deva Blackfire on 12/10/2008 00:52:43 Actually only "opportunity" for any smaller group in north was either join up with nap or be blobbed to death by it. Breaking up NC napfest can only be good thing. And no, you dont need to have 2 polar oposites like BOB vs rest. BOB alone cant control whole 0.0 - thats a fact. But they can break local napfests creating more place for... starting alliances.

List the conflicts where the NC as a whole moved to take aggressive action on a non-invading entity. Insurgency? I can't recall anyone else in recent times. While there were limited opportunities in core regions, places like Venal were left largely open to independents as long as you didn't touch their towers. ;) Even after Insurgency and the various entities that waged war against them imploded, they were not driven out of places like Venal. Many are still there and they will also feel the impact if NC lose the war and BoB pets take up residence.
If BoB takes over all the entrances to Venal they will shut it down. At present Venal is a great place to be for smaller entities, lots of fights, lots of opportunities be you pvper, pver or industrialist. Go hang out down south in BoB territory and let me know how it works out for you as an independent.

Even during the GNW, BoB was unable to lockdown Venal. Before any sights are even set on Venal the rest of the North will need to burn first, and that isn't anytime soon.

Are you lying or livins in illusions? Venal is pretty much only accessible through EC-P or M-o. Up until now, m-o was NC's favourite camping spot, if you arent part of their nap, you couldnt pass that. Up until MAX, EC- was also camped by NC aligned entitites or something... so only ways into venal were capital jumps (not starter corps/alliances if they have can move whole logistics with that, now right?), or longer routes going around MM's capital station systems, or around pure blind, which is even longer trip.
So how exactly is Venal frineldy to newer/smaller entities, surrounded by NC napfest, whos kills only came from camping m-o?

I had no problems getting there via P3EN, Tribute isn't the problem as long as you bypass M-O and don't travel alone. Given the war at the moment, movement through Tribute is not safe, that is understandable, they are trying to keep cretin out of their space.
Don't believe the NAP garbage polluted by those who moved against them. The only time they mobilized against a lesser opponent was for Insurgency and they had it coming.

Yes really, I think you've misunderstood both me and the op. The op was referring to the cycles of northern alliances being allowed to grow until they made nice targets, then attacked. ------------------ x-DSMA (Menta) x-CA (OMEGA/BOS) x-.5.(ATUK) BOB (DICE) |

Same as you do everywhere else. Either bring enough firepower to punch through the border camp, or you accept reality and fly around it, or jump over it. Most smarter corporations aren't going to make the push into 0.0 without at least one capital pilot for POS deployment, and VERY few corporations are going to rely entirely on NPC stations without the ability to bring overwhelming numbers to bear at least part of the day.
That's just the usual prerequisite for any corporation making the move out of empire space for the first time. The first lesson of living in 0.0 is that nothing comes easily, even access. The M-O camp is annoying, but its not unbeatable. I'm currently 12-2 against it when crossing into Taisy on my cyno alt. In the event of an emergency, my ego may be used as a floatation device.

You don't really believe that, do you? Bob can't actively control it, sure. But they want to control you and all the other crazy alliances to hold the space and pay for it. But that's hard to get and that's why these (and you) jump onto the train. You're a victim of "We do it for the EVE community" propaganda.
Anyways, Veldya had some good points (1 and 2). Ppl should read his posts again.

O yea - i guess best way would be: 1. leave NC alone !!! 2. form up and attack delve again
I dont care about propaganda but care about 80% of 0.0 being blue to each other. Its EVE not hello kitty online - game of pvp not hugging each other. And till now your huge napfest didnt manage to do anything they were supposed to (kill bob - yay gratz for actually achieving this) but managed to kill off all smaller unaligned entities.
RA breakdown was actually good start for fixing this. Next step is breaking up northern napfest. Last what remains is southern napfest and eve will be cluster**** again - which is much more fun than what you managed to create.

beating you own chest are we? well done you must be one of the unsong heros of eve that I newer heard of.
Atualy some of us just live in eve and go fighting where there may be a good fight to have (or at least we hope), having chest beaters like you rant on to prove what point excatly I am somewhat not understanding? Is this to say that what we do is pointless and we could earn more isk by mining in Delve? Well if I was a miner you would have a point, but thats not what I spend my time on.
Instead you should be happy that we come to you and provide some MMOG game play allowing you to enjoy all the benefits of being the defender.
Your post is a little point less in another light. Example: I still have lots and lots of stuff in Curse from my old CA days and no-one can ever take that away from me, so for the last 5 years I own curse OK and infact I got stuff all over the North as well, so you are actualy only visiting while I have been away... OK so this sentence is completely bull shxx (apart from the stuff) but just written to show how silly your post is. All your saying is that if you stay long enough, we will eventualy leave... woohoo big deal...

If we were allied and if it was the biggest napfest at start - then you might have been right. But we are not, and GBC actually wasnt the biggest one till recently when pure/hydra/iron crumbled faster that you could name all members of napalition. And are they largest now? No clue - dont care about GBC.
