...Uh...Back on topic:
I think it's pretty much leetspeak as we know it. Some then decide that it sounds "cool", and goes with it, simply because all the very cool people do it.
It's still lingual limbo, bu tI doubt it's likely to change in any foreseeable future. Unless CCP implements and optional 1337-filter, along with the profanity filter. :)

the following words are grounds for being immediately kicked from our corp:
kewl, r0x0r, s0x0r, l33t, as these are just wrong.
accepted nomenclature (timesavers):
"8" words like m8, gr8, l8r. and abbreviations like ATM, IMHO, BRB, AFAIK, FFS, WTF, OMG, LOL, etc.
Yes, this may be prejudicial. Deal with it!

Kids tend to say aint and muptard in my experience.
They might also struggle to spell "coming" and "probably" and use words incorrectly, (senses a flame coming shortly)
Quite how you could find "teh" offensive having destroyed so much of the English language in your post is quite amazing.
So yes I guess you probably are being stupid.

TEH helps nothing. it uses up just as much bandwidth as saying THE correctly.
It's alright if it takes up less bandwidth like saying "Coo" for cool, or "DA" for the.. Like "Wha da hell? that's hecka coo!" that is ok.
But TEH is just wrong though.
Anyways.. this is kind of like comparing rap to Rock & Roll. So I will stop now.
P.S. Rap = TEH, Rock = THE
And I would never say TEH in real life.. I would say, "That is the sh_t".. While others would probably say, "tats teh sh!znit". Guess i'm just getting old or something. Cause for me. words like teh and sh!znit are only good for mocking purposes..

I don't think it's supposed to be leet as much as making fun of the whole thing. Like the 1 at the end of !!!!1 a common typo that you just use to emphasize that you're being funny when you're stating you're the greatest.

"teh" is very often an accident, caused by typing too quickly. the mouseclicks or backspacing required to go fix it afterward is kinda redundant since most folks will understand you anyway, and if you were in enough rush to make that typo then you should just hit return and live with the mistake.
in some ways you could blame the original QWERTY keyboard layout- since it was originally designed for old fashioned typwriters with the letters PURPOSELY arranged so that they would be hard to type quickly. Old fashioned typewriters had levers that would jam up repeatedly if you typed too quickly so the letters were arranged in an inconvenient mannor to try to slow typers down. unfortunately this layout has stuck with us to this day, and attempts to make new arrangements of keyboard that allow fast typing (like DVORAK) just never catch on because we are already used to QWERTY.
i never type teh on purpose, but often type it by accident and don't bother to go back and fix it.
btw. typing "muptard" is WAY worse than "teh" so please end yourself.

Now where's mah damn cheese.
From what I've been able to uncover, "whinger" is a variant of "whiner". According to Dictionary.com, it is "Chiefly British" which should come as no surprise, because those chaps can't speak English if they tried (every time I hear a British person saying something like "bloo'ie 'ell" it sounds like he's got something caught in his throat).
Anyway. "Whinger" is, according to Dictionary.com, a dialectal alteration of Middle English whinsen, from Old English hwinsian. Hopefully that clears this up.
Also, I think "teh" is funny, and I don't think that people here who say things like "I am teh r0x0r" are really being "l33t". 1 4|\/| |_337 |-|4x0r! is really being l33t.

'Teh' is used whenever a sentence isn't serious. Sometimes people don't want to sound like politicians (or sound serious for that matter) when typing about an in-game feature or the like ("Teh patch is coming!"). Using 'teh' is not any worse than using the incorrect "ain't" instead of "isn't."

Most of the time I see 'teh' used deliberately (as opposed to a typo) is mainly for purposes of mocking.. (i.e. "Oh you don't say? I guess that makes you 'teh roxxorz")

No it just makes you look like a 12 year old wannabe script kiddie and a fool especially when you do it wrong.
Originally it was a hacker thing, then the script kiddies (wannabe hackers) got hold of it, then the CS smacktards started using it, and now its been adopted as "web talk" and its become even worse when people try to look cool, but make complete fools of themselves when they do it wrong.
