You do know what militant means right? Its about as far from mercenary as you can get. In any case your corp name is is a profanity filter avoiding single letter away from being a racist term so stfu.
Man, you EXE guys just keep on giving.
Militant: A fighting, warring, or aggressive person or party. Mercenary: A professional soldier hired for service in a foreign army.
Not exactly the most clear-cut case of opposites; Mercenaries are, by definition, militants, although the converse is not true.
More to the point, though, arguing about definitions while apparently being unaware that '*****rdly' is actually not related to the racial slur is pretty awesome.
*****rdly is the correct spelling
that *iggardly... with an A.... oh knowledgable one

I've read the wiki page about E0. here is relevant part for the uninformed/lazy/dumb (pick one for yourself):
Quote: The South African intelligence services started to defame Executive Outcomes for a long period. Although Executive Outcomes was highly regarded in the military world, allegations that Executive Outcomes was paid in diamonds and oil- and mineral concessions was the cause that the company got bad coverage in the press. Despite their initial successes in Sierra Leone, where the contractors were welcomed by the local population (citation needed), the company was forced to leave the country by the United Nations. After Executive Outcomes left, the country was back in turmoil again.
Whatever rumors you heard from your uninformed african friend(s), its just intentional propaganda created by those with interests to see the successful corporation fail... which btw only brought peace to Sierra Leone, must have embarrassed the UN badly enough, forcing EO out and letting war and death resume (without taking care of it, of course), only to make their egos feel better and bigger... what a nice useful organization, UN
That's funny, the wikipedia entry you cite was changed less than a week ago from the following (Since everyone can edit Wikipedia, you know you're always getting the most accurate information, don't you know?):
Thanks to the corporate expertise of Barlow and others, Executive Outcomes' operations were cloaked behind a network of shadowy multinational holding entities, mining and oil companies, transportation, and security companies. Allegedly, the entire structure engaged in the extraction of mineral and oil resources from the failed states where EO served its clients. The practice was referred to as "predatory capitalism" by Dr. Robert J. Bunker and Steven F. Marin.
If you're going to call them a group of nice people, you might want to, you know, use a source with fewer horrific grammatical errors. Also, 'forced from the country by the United Nations' is pretty hilarious. There are so many well-intentioned mercenary groups getting bullied around by the UN these days.
That they were 'welcomed with open arms' by the local populace is also phenomenal, given the penchant for hacking-off of limbs in the various conflicts there.
ok, This time I didn't go and research it deeper (but I will if we keep going!). BUT, based on what you said yourself - they only engaged in Predatory Capitalism!!!
How did you jump from that to racism? (that was the original accusation, wasn't it? that the original name is racist associated...) I still haven't seen one single proof of that, either on the new wiki version, or the stuff you just quoted.

I don't see a problem with it though, better than people using numbers instead of letters in their names, now that does drive me nuts. Yes that's you Sev3rance.
