Ofcourse, if you want to play the game, pay for it. There is nothing wrong with that.

I think it's a good change for the game, tbh. It will reduce people's reliance upon alts, and to me - that is a good thing. ------------------------------------------------ There are only two types of ships: those which have blown up; and those which will.

Quote: But recently we have seen a surge in this behavior in a way that we were essentially supporting and maintaining a large number of customers that weren't paying us regular subscriptions. That's not fair towards CCP as a service provider and it's not fair towards other players that pay a subscription but don't make use of this bug.
LOL, probably due to the number of people who have left eve and left a skill running, all you will see is drop in subscription numbers - I bet this year they wolnt release active subscription numbers. Because of the number of people who have quit eve.

Nah, statistics = statistics, change the variables and you can generate any outcome supporting any view you want to present.

Don't particularly care, but I find it hilarious that they are trying to pass it off as a bug fix.

Technically it is a bug. Unintended "feature" that someone didn't account for in the original design.
Bugs are fixed by priority. At the end of the day it is a business so someone saw value in fixing this bug. Now the question is could ccp have spinned this one better? Or better yet, been up front and not included any spin what so ever.
Most of us have to deal with pr/manager-speak at work. We don't necessarily want to deal with it in game.

Meh. Color me unsympathetic to a "feature" that mostly benefits people who build toons to sell. It's occasionally a nice side benefit for real players, but for the most part all this did was make it cheaper for people to mass train chars.

A lot of people will cut down on their alt accounts and concentrate on playing one character at a time like they should. Not a big deal when you look at it like that. Will suck for CCP I guess when people run less accounts but that shouldn't be our concern as players.

Personally I just don't care about this particular feature.
My problem with it is that there are so many small anomalous bugs in the game and THIS is the crap they are working on - for what? 1.2% extra money per month because someone in accounts did a report for their manager stating how much extra $$ a month they are missing out on because people are training long skills on accounts that are unpaid.
Surely they could fix the UI or drones or some other damned buggy piece of the game?

To me this smells of numbers manipulation for the fiscal year. If the number of players is in fact down they will no doubt spin the "bug" fix being the reason. True they may have a small bump in revenue but in the long wrong this wil hurt the bottom line as the players are sold off and said player is activated on a regular basis with monthly fee to boot.
