Heres a setup i been using to pvp with out in 0.0 , this will not be a solo ship since i've caldari and we don't really have any, but will be in a gang/gate camp. Tried this solo a few times not intention vs nano'd ships and never lost yet.
Highs - 2 Hvy Nuets T2 6 Cruise Launchers T2
Mids- 4 Lg Shield extender T2 1 Warp disruptor T2 or Sensor booster T2 (with scripts) 1 Invul Field T2
Lows- 1 DCU T2 3 BCS T2 1 Reactor Control T2
Rigs - 3 Core Defence Field Extenders T1
Drones- 5 Hammerhead T2

You can fit a better active tank on a Cruise set up and you can get stupidly more dps from a siege set up. On the other hand pvp is extremely situational so meh...
Have fun with it, Ravens are cheap anyway. Arguably my opinions represent to an extent the opinions of my alliance and in particular circumstances give rise to a valid "casus belli" claim. |

ouch active tank and siege in 0.0, thats not a very good idea with all the roaming gangs and nuets will kill you rather fast compared to buffer tank

Edited by: Leobon on 14/10/2008 09:00:39 Looks good for anti-support.
I use:
2x Med Nuets T2 6x Arby Seige ( 2 with CN Monjorn 2 with CN Inferno 2 with CN Bane)
2x Invuln T2 1x 100MN MWD T2 or best named 1x WD T2 2x Extender T2
3x BCU T2 1x DCU T2 1x 0D T2
3x extender riggs
2x Ogre T2 2x Hammerhead T2 1x Hobgoblin T2
MWD for those pesky gate camps and plated megas. This is with my skills atm on my other toon. Fit best named or w/e your wallet can afford. Have fun.
Edit: arby seige are way cheaper and do the same as T2....unless u wanna use advance torps.

This is pretty much my fit tbh. Dunno what u need the overdrive for tho? =\ I'd swap it for a pdu or a bcu and fit T2 sieges for more dps. -----

those look like good setups but seige are gonna have a very hard time hitting those nano'd ships or even hitting anything with speed, and if you do it they prob will do small amound of damage vs thier small hulls

Not sure about Raven and PvP. I have been hot to try one since the Torp change and now I have one my testing has been a little dissappointing.
Interestingly my Rokh (4 T2 Seige, 4 Heavy unstable nuets, active, double injectors) fairs better by lasting longer and nueting the crap out of stuff. Tonight I'm going to fit a cargo extender for more cap charges..lol.
But either ship will be primary in a fight and now that I fly Gallente also I can see that an armor tank can buffer and rep at the same time, plus is spider tank friendly.
I'm going to go with shield tank PvP fail EXCEPT tech II maybe OR a corp that has some shield transfer skills amoung them.
Let you know how it goes.

Or an RCU for a heavy neut - mediums just dont have the range in many situations.
Also - you can replace around 3 unrigged Ravens for the price of one rigged up. Then again maybe I'm just cheap lately.

well my raven might be expensive but i like to consider the isk i kill compared to the isk i lose.. sure it costs like 200mil roughly, but out in 0.0 i usually face a couple nano'd ships at a time that think a raven is an easy kill but i've never lost yet in this vs them because they usually need to get within my nuet range to warp scram me and that means i can hit them with nuets and almost get an insta pop with faction cruise. Thats just my opinion from using this raven out in 0.0 for a few months now.

Yeah T2 cruise launchers with faction wrath can put some hurt on fx. a non MWD'ing vagabond. Couple amarr hvy neuts could be an ideal investment along with a TS webber -----

Edited by: Spica on 16/10/2008 21:24:50 Yea im training for it as well right now. Battleclinic has some good fits. use the idea mentioned of rcu with hvy neuts to chase off nanos.
But I go with
6 siege II, 2 smartbomb heatsinks mwd II, named web, wd II, 2 invul II, 1 lse II 4 bcs II, dcII
3 extenders for rigs if u want some more hp. Also can get rid of web for another lse if you want.
You can either replace web with target painter but I like web for keeping range. Also mentioned get rid of one low slot and do a rcu and put a hvy neut.

p.s. a Raven (or any BS) w/o an MWD is not a PVP fit.
Have fun slow boating back to the gate.

2 and 1/2 years worth, almost daily, all in NPC and true 0.0.
If you don't agree that a BS needs a MWD, you've never jumped into a large bubble or needed to burn back to a gate.
After you slow boat back, expect your x's to be ignored in the future.

Actually there's another reason to put a MWD on a torp-gank Raven: It makes mega pilots cry when they can't catch you and subsequently get blown to pieces from outside blaster-range. Unless they use Null, at which point you can STILL outfight them.
I also like to make room for a painter as well, just to make sure those torps are doing the job. "I got soul but I'm not a soldier" |
