Edited by: Lord LoneFox on 15/10/2008 02:27:21 ok watching the jamyl sarum video got me thinking.. why not ask ccp to add war bonds to the fraction war a way to donate to your fraction maybe some notice.. say a stupid shine at each factions home system with everyones name who donates to that race.. say 100mill and youll have your name on the statue for all of eve unless some percentage would be better at the end of the war... if they're actually going to end it like the rumers
either way itd be a way for none pvpers to help with the "war" effort by help building each races fleet.. .. ... yes ... no...
please do nude/idiot comments

war bonds are bonds... You give say 100million. You get an interest rate and returns.
They exist to slow the economy during war time. As any country at war generally is highly productive.
I guess Iraq war, Afghanistan, War on Terror, and War on Drugs for the USA has been great on the economy?
These wont be put in the game because all it does it create free money. There's people and corps/alliances with BILLIONS who dont know how to use it. Lets say they drop 5 billion and the interest is 1% which is fairly low. That's 50million created isk. Which hurts the market honestly. CCP tries to balance isk generating things with isk destroying things. Or at least hope that isk will become essentially out of circulation sitting in some wallet. That newly created isk is more that will outbalance that. Creating inflation which hurts the newbs who have trouble generating lots of isk. Who only high sec rat for example. ------------------------ "There was this bright flash of light - and now this egg shaped thing is on my screen - did I level up?" |

Its the fact that it is formatted like a poem. However there is no rhyme or reason to the formatting.
Its really just like you have a twitch that causes you to hit the enter button every few seconds. -------------------

it's like you speak in verse or something. Some poetry type deal. Very hard to read. ------------------------ "There was this bright flash of light - and now this egg shaped thing is on my screen - did I level up?" |

Never happen. You can come back in 3 years and you will still have fail warfare. ------------------------ "There was this bright flash of light - and now this egg shaped thing is on my screen - did I level up?" |

Im sure the devs could easily make the option of 'give money' to the FW npc corps; just as you can give money to any player corp. If you're so desire to give... go ahead. ------------------------ "There was this bright flash of light - and now this egg shaped thing is on my screen - did I level up?" |

something should happen, I mean it be kinda lame to have the hole "new" fraction war thing start out as a "break" in the peace just to have it go back to as it was.

It's faction not fraction.
This is not 1/2 vs 2/5 war or something. ------------------------ "There was this bright flash of light - and now this egg shaped thing is on my screen - did I level up?" |

The only way i could see this possibly working (and I'm reaching pretty far with this) would be to correlate the interest rate with a faction's success during a certain time period. Invest 100mil in Caldari war bonds and based on how well they do, you get a return on your investment. It would make more sense to associate the interest directly with how well a faction did, but since I'm responding to a thread I barely care about with a crack pot idea, I'm just going to crap some numbers out and run with it.
Cal 1st Place = 7.5% return on investment Amarr 2nd Place = 2.0% return on investment Min 3rd Place = 5.5% loss of investment Gal 4th Place = 15% loss on investment
That would pretty well keep anyone from using alts to play the market. As well it would give some meaning to faction war without making it a l33t gear grinding reward fest.
I'm not sure 'war bonds' would be an appropriate name for this. But I can't be assed to think of something better.
As for statues with names on them and posting on the forums in very odd formats...
Yeah... Just stop it.

That would be cool as HELL. A real gambling and speculation market. Signature removed. Text is showing as "Signature no longer available" and filesize is well in excess of the allowed 400 x 120 pixels. Navigator |
