From my understanding of it when the server is reset each day most of the decent trade routes are almost immediately saturated and filled by folks in Europe. As being a person in the US and on the Pacific coast by the time I can get home to log on there is basically nothing left except routes that cross half the universe for a very poor profit.
So my question is do I ever have any hope to make money as a trader without having to get up at 4am everyday for server reset? Is it possible to get the npc demand reset a little more random timewise?

Good question, I'm in the same boat as you. Demand should regenerate at random times, not just at downtime.

If it's a problem, it'll be eliminated soon enough. The Devs are working on dynamic reseeding, meaning that trade runs regenerate continuously (presumably) rather then after each downtime.

Well I AM european and itŠs still like whenever I look at the market it seems dead :| Would be nice to be able to do some trading since mining for money just canŠt be it. WeŠre a trading corporation... and we canŠt trade :) Well we do a lot of trading with other players and corporations but some opportunities for NPC trading would be very nice.

I worried about this as well. Im in Central Standard Time, so im not much better off than you. But, while browsing the market yesterday, I noticed new supplies and demands appear in several different regions. So, I dont think that we're being left out.

I've done some trading runs in my trusty Mammoth and I've made good profit at the comodities market. The trade routs I've used don't ever seem to have the demand/supply saturated. It takes some work with the advanced market to find the profitable goods/routs, but it can be done.

I run into the same thing. Even if your trying to sell your minerals, the market is not there for them.
BTW this is not a whine. It's just me putting my 2 cents in.
The game is great! If you haven't bought it buy it. However, if you just don't like to think. Or if you can't think ahead and are unable to plan your next move well in advance, it's not a game for you. Actually I have the heart of an Exploiter and a PKer---I keep them on my desk in a jar. |

The trick is to find a route... Run the goods over and set a sell order... when the server resets you get the sale and make your money... you just have to get out of the instant gratifications mind-set. I'm in the same boat (US Pacific Coast) but instead of selling at the current price when I can get online, I take the goods to the station(s) I want, set a sell order for the price I want, and wait. The next time I log in I have a healthy increase in my bank acount.

So basicly I need to get up at 4am once to find a good route then just wait for sell orders?
