As someone who both pays and uses GTC, I feel that while the removal of the Ghost training is an all round good thing (as it will eliminate background lag from the servers updating characters that arenÆt contributing to their funding), however I feel that the cold turkey approach is bad as well.
Take this situation into account: A playerÆs account is coming due and does not realize they donÆt have enough money in their account to cover it. Come renewal time the bank declines the payment and the account is rendered inactive, unbeknownst to the player until he attempts to log on. The player comes on later that day, lets say 12 hours after the initial decline, learns what happened and quickly gets the funds together to pay for the account. He resubs only to find that what he was training was stopped.
Now, to some 12 hours may not seem that big of a deal, however to someone who has college, a job, social obligations and what not, you naturally set your skills to finish up when you know you will be home to start the next one and that 12 hour delay may mean having to revamp your skill schedule to fit your new time frame. This becomes an annoyance to the player who simply didnÆt realize the renewal was upon them and neglected to make sure there were enough funds in the account.
CCP, please consider a 24 hour grace period for these individuals. If after 24 hours of the initial decline and subsequent deactivation of the account the player doesnÆt pay up, THEN stop the training, but cut us some slack and give us the benefit of the doubt please.

Im just saying that it is not that fair to the guy who is astute in keeping all his accounts active to block his training for a few hours and throw his who schedule out of wack, hence the idea of a 24 hour grace period.

I lost seven days in september because I couldn't get a game time card, and you know what I did? Play other games and not care about skilltraining. Learn to set a schedule and plan or face the consequences, Eve does not offer you any instant gratification.

Did you even read my post in full or did you cherry pick the parts you wanted. As I said, I keep a schedule but due to real life if a situation arises where I cant get on in time to change the skill and forget to renew the sub why should I be penalized for that? Im not looking for "instant gratification" but a way for those of us who have to keep things to a tight plan can have some wiggle room.

As Wrangler has already stated, there is a three day grace period between when your account expires and when training stops.
