In every MMO you hit points you want to quit. Ghost-skilling gave you an incentive to come back afterwards.
So while the accounts that aren't running now at 50% might balance against those that now must run at 100%, I believe that the feature change will be felt in the long term in the form of fewer players returning after hitting a quit point.
I'm disappointed by this because I know my next quit point I hit will now be my last, and my current GTC expires in 40 days. You can't haz my stuff.

Haha! That's a good one.
There's two reason *real* MMO players come back. The first is friends. The second is new content.

I must admit I am upset by it. My current time code runs out about a week before I get paid (and can get more time) and was hoping to get one of my week skills complete in that time.
Ah well, Que Sirrah Sirrah. No biggy.

You make a good point about new content. I agree with you that it can bring you back. Burning Crusade did not bring me back to WoW, but I know it brought some other players back. I wouldn't return to Eve for anything in the pipeline so far, but you never know. Ambulation I regard as a reason to not return.
With friends though, my experience is that they keep you in the game, or keep you logging in to play, but they don't bring you back once you've quit.
