I've been playing for over a year, but until now (this week) have never bothered with agent missions.
My question is; can anyone tell me what sort of level of rats you have to kill in level 1 kill missions, also the same info for level 2 would be useful?
So far I've had 2 L1 kill missions; one was 2 2.5k rats and the other was 2 3.5k ones. Do they get any higher at level 1?
(I'm really just doing the missions to get my refining station take down. It grieves me to give away 5% of the minerals. )

Better quality lvl 1 agents, you get maybe 8k rats.
Lvl 2 agents, highest I've seen is 17.5k rats, but with lvl 2 agents, there's usually a lot more rats per mission, so you can make a lot more. I think I was making around 350k an hour with my lvl 2 agent.
With lvl 3 agent, you get various cruiser rats a lot, sometimes 40k. I'm still on low quality lvl 3 agent, so I can't say if the higher quality gives better rats. Still though, I'm making well over 500k an hour with a lvl 3 agent, and that doesn't include loot or mission rewards.

Even with some points in social skills level 1 missions never get interesting really. Highest I ever saw was 10K I think. It was usually "Serpentis Smuggler" etc.
Level 2 is a bit better but honestly not much. Just a few steps up and some slightly harder serpenties.
And then there's level 3 which is a huge jump. I run into serpenties chief defenders, caldari navy blackbirds, drugbarons etc. A really low end mission for me now is something with 6 x 8K + 1 x 6K ... and a good one is 1 x 110K, 1 x 100K and 3 x 45K. All of them easy to kill in a cruiser with some rails and no guts as well :)
Takes a while to build up the standing but once you get to level 3 agents you can earn some pretty nice money - mission rewards of 50~100K, bonuses varying from a 2K (small shield booster or whatever) to half a million (eighty-something of the high end tech 2 production) - and then there's the low chance of an implant popping out every now and then :)

Thanks for the info everyone, but another question; What sort of amount of stuff do you usually have to carry for the cargo missions at level 2? I'm probably going to be able to get at least a low-end level 2 agent soon, as I'm busily training Connections skill, so that info would be useful; for example do I need a hauler available, or will the cargo hold of a cruiser do?

in my experience: 1 level: Gurista invader, imputor and arrogators, and some other low level rat.
2 level: max 1 Krull(20k) + 2x "don't remember name" (3k).
Anyway in my hopinion i see that groups have almost the same total rewars. example:
1x 20k +2x3k = 26k or 3x 8k = 24k or "a lot of 3-4k pirates"
For lev 1 total spawn have around 8-10k total.

lvl 1's are usually naff
lvl 2's u get about 30-40ks worth of bounty unless u get the pirate invasion/intrusion (love that mission )
lvl 3's much more interesting. top end cruiser rats with a decent lvl3 agent and pirate invasion usually nets me 1.5mil in bounty/rewards/bonus and loot on top
to sum up, dont care about what lvl1 and 2 are, just work for the lvl3.
and as far as courier missions go i did all mine in a kestrel which has a hold of 300 and never used any expanders. lvl3 missions u might need a cruiser with big hold or expanders but having an indy to hand is helpful sometimes (carrying 600m3 of marines about for example)
hope this helps :)

Another thing would be to go to the race's closest training station and do the training mission you did over a year ago... It will gaurantee you 2.0 faction which should boost you to lvl 2. :) But you didnt hear that from me...

As has been said, the only real difference between level 1 and level 2 are the number of rats (though there is a slight increase in size)
There is a sizeable jump from Level 2 to 3.
General Level 3 Kill missions have 1 Cruiser (40k to 85k) and 2 or 3 big Frigs. Or, 1 Named Bad Guy Frigate and 6 lesser Frigates.
Moderate Level 3 missions have 1 'Bad Guy' (only like 8k bounty) but 3 or 4 35k Cruisers. But I also get, and am really annoyed by, the missions that have 1 Empire Enemy Cruisers + 2 Frigate escorts, none of which have bounties.
The High-end Level 3 mission is the Pirate Invasion one. For me its always 5 bookmarks, 2 Solo 110k rats, 1 100k rat with 1 40k and 1 45k Cruiser escort, and 1 55k rat with 4 or 5 10K frigs. That's where the money is at, though the 110k rats can be quite challenging. ______________ "I Type with my Tongue" |
