Being drunk is NOT an excuse, and as Mittani is a lawyer he knows this, but still used it as part of his apology.
And lots care about this. Realistically EVE is already seen by too many as a rogue game of low morals, before we could boast shush you nutters its only in game... until now. And all the goons backing his actions need to see the damage its doing to not only this great game but to there own reputation. Increasingly we see in the modern world people taking notice of internet actions when it comes job applications and living your real life... so imagine in a few years when you loose a job because your a GOON and supported this douche bag.
Too far you say.. probably.
But I'd put real money on the fact that right now Mittani is fearing for his job and career.
Too many claim to want tears, real people cry not characters, make up your mind on if your playing a game or just out to cause distress. |

Sister Rhode wrote:Outside of the fanfest debacle, provide some sort of evidence to support this. Sure he's made some people cry for losing ships, isk balances, dread caches, space and trusted directors in-game, but all of that is a part of Eve, and encouraged by the game's culture.
You are making claims that Alex is a horrible person in real life, which is 100% unfounded and completely ridiculous.
You don't even know the guy.
1, Most wouldn't care either way if not for the debacle, EVE is EVE. 2, Until the debacle. 3, Since the debacle, many now probably go good why would I want to know him, and even a few forum posts from people who did know his now wish they didn't.
There's always been a very very fine line in how people perceive mittani and the goons. Some hated him and them anyway so no change, but a hell of a lot of fence sitters now think.. oh so every excuse we ever heard before was just crap and he is a complete douche out the game as well. And you back up your hero as a sheep, and we'll think that about you too.

He is a lawyer his professional job is to make others think and believe what he says, with any and all means at his disposal. He has been part of a team that has to vote on issues for quite a while. He has all throughout that maintained another persona of "the mittani" that is different to himself in the meetings. Why is it such a stretch to believe that the persona he has had all along in those meetings is also false? He wanted them to agree and vote for his idea's.. of course he was friendly with them he'd be an idiot if he wasn't.
His own maintenance of "the mittani" persona damns him in this, as he has already proved that duplicity is part of his nature to achieve his goals, how many of us here have seen the enormous lengths he went through to maintain that persona, the one put forward in the CSM meetings is likely just as false, the only thing we've seen of the real guy is when he was drunk with his guard down encouraging his "people" to cause a suicide.
Wake up you've been had by a pro. |

Marara Kovacs wrote:I think its about time CCP started forum bans on anyone startingnew threads about the same thing, day after day after day.
CCP dealt with this, if you dont like it, go an dplay somethign else.
Seriously, you really wanna go down that path, as pointed out goons are some of the most active on the forums, if there were mass bans for starting same news threads they would be on the chopping block first.
Again what planet you on, people playing other games is the last thing ccp want EVER.
People are clearly aggravated by what has happened, this isn't about some lost pixel that will go away with the normal "your tears fuel me" crap. This is about someone taking this all way to far out of the game, proving to many a suspicion that all along it never was about the game but about the hurt you can inflict on others via the game.

If it really makes you feel better if you believe I'm someone you've directly affected in game.. please keep deluding yourself.
But maybe.. just maybe I'm one of the thousands of players who know how you play and know how to avoid your antics. Maybe just maybe I'm one of those players who actually liked your in game antics, who liked the unpredictable chaotic nature of playing in a universe with such an unpredictable nature. And maybe just maybe I'm one of those players who is just simply disgusted at your leaders actions out of the game, and just as disgusted at anyone who would defend him so blindly, or are also now showing there true colours of not knowing the difference between what is part of a game and what isn't. |

That where your wrong, for the first time were seeing the real person behind the mittani, and its disturbing. To the point that we don't want him in the game, and again by you defending him you put yourself closer to the real mittani than any character he's portrayed. |

No compassion you hypocrite.
This is all about compassion, compassion that someone was hurting a stranger, and some mindless drunk idiot thought it'd be funny to make a crack at encouraging his suicide.
Don't play the damned victim card here, the fact you even try is pathetic. Someone with thousands of clearly blind followers put out a call encouraging them to provoke a suicide...
A SUICIDE.
Get it, it's all about that, no crappy pixel related rubbish comes into this.
We are trying to make you understand how wrong what he did is.. and all you can do is whine about him being the victim.
He tried to get someone.. a REAL person killed... and your defending him. |

No I honestly believe justice has not been done.
A 30 day ban from a computer game for the fact that someone could of died due to his evil malicious actions.
Thats not punishment thats a joke.
I truly believe that the game has nothing to do with this, apart from it is what gave him the platform to do such a thing. |

The fact that you believe me a troll and try to brush it all under the carpet is astounding.
In his apology he even in the first line admitted it was a horrible mistake, that part I believed, everything else after that was a scripted piece of text written by a lawyer trying to cover his backside, because what he did was criminal, I truly believe that.
Keep deluding yourself that I'm doing this for the sake of it, but this wont stop here, I can't let this go.
For me being malicious, I'm not, I feel so strongly about this, but I'm not deluded like others seem to be. I also see some of the threats against him in almost the same vain. The anonymous vile internet posting is a terrible thing, and I hope he reports them. But what he did was not anonymous, he stood in a conference, a leader of thousands and tried to encourage acts that would bring about the suicide of another human being. Thats what is evil and malicous.
If you can't see that.. I pity you. |

For those catching up.
I believe that someone using there known internet status of thousands of followers, to encourage another players suicide is a disgusting vile act.
Apparently that makes me the malicious evil one, who is a lunatic, filth and in need of lithium.
Goon logic at its finest. |

Sure why not.
Trolling for fun can get you by for a few hours, but posting for a cause you believe in, that could keep me going for ages while I do other things.
Besides its taking a good amount of goons posting to drown me out, by the numbers I'm winning right, thats how the internet works? |
