Requires Cloacking level III and Electronics level V.
You'll get the Cloaking skill with the device if you win this auction.
Bidding will start at 70 million, and will end 2 days from now, on June 28th, at 18.30 EVE Standard Time.
The winner will get an escrow with the device and the skill at a central location in empire space.
[Update, thought I'd put it in the original post as well. Look down for time of this change]
If someone bids within the last hour of the auction, the auction will end an hour after that bid. If another bid is made within that time, the auction will end one hour after the new bid and so on.
So, if someone bids at 17.00, the auction still ends at 18.30, but if someone bids at 18.15, the auction will end at 19.15, and then when someone else bids at 18.45, it'll end at 19.45 and so on.

Would potential orethiefs be able to use this cloacking device to steal ore without being detected??? or will the stealing result in criminal flagging and immediate exposure???

Can you warp, jump, remained Cloaked when entering the system.

You cannot warp while cloaked, but cloaking and uncloaking is instantaneous, so you could be cloaked, uncloak and warp right after, and then cloak again as soon as you come out of warp.
When you are cloaked, you can't be seen at all, not on scanner or anything.
Cloaking does not drain cap while being used, so when you first are cloaked, you can be cloaked forever, unless you want to warp.
If you come within 500 meters of another player, you decloak. I havn't seen any other ways to get decloaked.
With one of these equipped, there's no way you'll get caught at a gate. It's perfect for running through a blockade, scouting, and you can probably think of more purposes.

Wait a minute, I thought the cloaking device required 5000 Teraflops of CPU power and could only be equipped on Special Ops frigates because of their bonus. What's the difference between this cloak and that one?

Cover ops fit a special version of cloaking device that let be possible to warp while you are cloked.

This is the Improved Cloaking Device II, the reward by the jovians. This is the only cloaking device available at the moment of what I have heard or seen.
There'll probably be released additional cloaking devices at some point, but note that these I have fit on any ship, as long as you have the skills.

While noone has bid anything yet, I have decided to change the auction a little.
If someone bids within the last hour of the auction, the auction will end an hour after that bid. If another bid is made within that time, the auction will end one hour after the new bid and so on.
So, if someone bids at 17.00, the auction still ends at 18.30, but if someone bids at 18.15, the auction will end at 19.15, and then when someone else bids at 18.45, it'll end at 19.45 and so on.

I am sorry but I dont understand what u are doing - this is the third time u change the conditions for the auction. I did really whant the device, but it is getting to late - its a workingday tomorrow.
You lost lots of millions by helping Ds. Next time u arrange an auction, please stay to youre original conditions, dont favor any bidder!

btw...117m? nuts? Those things are already on escrow in Yulai for 90m which is still quite hilarious. |
