can drones mine mercoxit? i have t2 drones and di4 so they should in theory hold a chunk of mercoxit 40m3.
if it does will the drones mining cause a cloud to form that kills them?

The thing to look at here is not the capacity 1200m3 of the mining drone II but further down the stats is the "mining amount" which is 25m3. Since Merc is 40m3 that's why it's not mineable and my guess is that if they did cause the gas cloud they would be insta-popped anyway

yet but 25m3 * 1.25 for mining drone 5 * 1.8 for di 4 is 50m3. so it should in theory hold enough. That was why i didn't know if it would work. my drones currently get 3 units of arkonor which is 16m3 so I know they hold at least 48m3 of ore.

82.5m¦.
can also be done with t2 drones but then requires at least one t2 rig -.-
a BoB mothership does about twice as much cox as a raw hulk or skiff.
also pushes you to 5 ark/bist/crok per drone.

ahah so i can use my drones to mine more mercoxit. thanks. i knew the math was there but wasn't sure it actually allowed it.
<--- mercoxit nub. i just found out there are 4 belts in the system next to me that have it.

mining drone i does not have deep core mining in its skill requirements.
no you can't use drones. i get about 2km3 of mercoxit in the same time it takes me to get 4800m3 of arkonor. not worth mining.
