How come when I'm smartying at a gate (at just greater than 5000m away), sometimes my targets get oblitorated, sometimes only a few bombs hit them, and sometimes they pass straight through my sphere of pain unscathed.
My method is the same each time - zoom out, as soon as I see them on overview, F1-F7! If my method is consistant, how come I sometimes miss?
Server lag / desync perhaps? Or am I just a noob?

I have had the same problem when I was running around in my 5 smartbomb dominix. The hit rate is very low, I thought the point of smartbombs was they hit everything seeing how they are omni directional if they are in range, they should be hit. I have noticed about a 25% hit rate when I have used them.

When i used to smart bomb we noticed the same type of thing. The work around we used was to have a buddies in the gang on the gate that the traffic was coming from to scout it for us.Then we would count how long it took for the target to get to the other gate .Then we would stagger when we would fire the sb accordingly. It did increase the amount kills we got very much.
