A completely balanced game leads to a game which is monotonous. I am glad there is imbalance between ships because then things would not be interesting. And I do like the constant change of nerfing and buffing things because then things are actually changing and not stay stagnant, meaning the same ship builds and same tactics. Although I do feel that the speed nerf is kind of harsh on frigate sized ships (I really hope that ceptors will still be able to avoid a lot of damage through their speed) and is removing speed as an option from most hacs. I think speed should remain an option for some hacs, but it should still be in line. An ishtar should not be able to exceed the speeds of a ceptor no matter what gear you fit in.

There is no one thing that was introduced that has changed eve as it was today, eves never been balanced, the most stable time i remember was just before Shiva was introduced and even then warp core stabs were rife, dual mwd's and log off tactics were around.
So no Eves never been balanced, in my opinion, your looking at the best eves been tbh. Its along way off being balanced, but its also a damned sight better than it was.
CCP know what there doing, they have imho only made one mistake balance wise since i started playing, which was the falcon buff from 10% to 20%...
Other than this, ive never complained.
Bet your Falcon alt wasn't complaining though! :p
But yah, Eve is FAR better balanced now than it was when I started playing almost 5 years ago. I'd like to see assault ships get some kind of resistance to cap warfare (AF's and HAC's - post nano nerf) to give them a role in engaging neut armed battleships. They could still fight back - drones etc, out-tank them until they get bored, call in support to mangle them up etc and I recently read an EXCELLENT ecm change thread but beyond those things, I'm pretty happy.
No longer use a falcon alt. Rather use an alt for an ammo dispenser

You're confusing "balance" with "homogeneity".

I don't get why people think the Muninn is the worst HAC around - after Deimos. I see them often enough in friendly and hostile gangs and it is a fun ship to fly.
Not isk effective compared to a Hurricane? Well duh, you don't fly every ship because of the isk factor, unless you are a cheapskate or poor. The ship excels at station/gate campings where you want a quick lock, and in lightning strikes on large targets where speed is essential to get in, kill, and get out before the cavalry comes to his rescue. A Hurricane, unless nano'ed, would be to slow and to quick to get tackled.
Anyone who doubt this that can just goggle for my alliance KB and look for it them self. I lost my Muninn last night to a hostile gang but thats because I screwed up selecting the wrong BM to warp to, got slowed down and then had a ceptor on my ass. Even if losing a Hurricane is cheaper I will still choose a Muninn any day of the week.
So why don't people like the Muninn - poor solo ship? You can solofit it but then I think you are better off in a Vaga. Still a few do solofit it (tackle-gear, armor tank and AC's) and if that is to their liking then the more power to them.
Zealot doing it better? Well duh again, not all of us want to fly the FOTM-race. If people would only fly zealots then it will soon end up on the nerfing-list. Beside CCP have nerfed minmatar so much already (not by actual choice but by introducing changes to the game) that one day they will have to boost the poor Minmatar and then it will be their turn in the sun
We may have to wait a year or two but it will come...

It really boils down to many things added/changed in the game that didn't seem like they would affect each other, but in fact did greatly. The number one culprit is...
Increased ship survivability
Has anybody else noticed that one of the changes in Quantum Rise is 'weapon linking to make your onslaught easier'?. Will be interesting to see how exactly it'll work, but it looks like DPS is going to increase.

Since ships did not survive very long in the past, there wasn't much reason to use any of the "tactical" elements in the game. Why nano something when if you gank you can pop your target in a few seconds?
I very well remember the day of tempest's in low-sec insta popping EVERYTHING and ANYTHING that came through the gate =P
That's when the balance issues regarding tactical elements kicked in. Because now the effectiveness of them was boosted in combat, where as you never really had to consider using them. ---

I think only Alpha will increase, as it will be impossible to stagger-fire. Carpal tunnel might go down as well. It's really just fancy marketing hype for "You know how you wanted to put all your guns on the same hotkey since beta? Well we finally stopped being lazy and made a crappy solution that requires a rank 500 skill at level 5. Enjoy being subscribed for the next year training to use it."
