CCP always says, primarily, the reason they are nerfing nano setups is because the speeds that people are achieving are too fast and breaking the game.
Okay.
CCP added MWD's to the game after it was released because people were complaining "lololololol we want to go super fast".
Just remove MWD's. Simple. Put the game back to the way it was designed.
You don't have to nerf rigs, implants, speed modules. 3km/s would be super fast. The web nerf isn't that bad of an idea though. --------------------------------------------------------------------- What do you call the person that brings a gun to a knife fight?

Only if they make blockade runners 1 ISK each.

Moronic solution.
Should we just remove ECM because its overpowered?
Should we just remove titans?
You can't remove something after its been introduced to the player base. Look how much crying there is over a change to it. Your signature is too large. Please resize it to a maximum of 400 x 120 with the file size not exceeding 24000 bytes. If you would like further details please mail [email protected]

If CCP wants blockade runners to run bubble camps (assuming that is what you are getting at with the MWD here), why didn't they make them immune to bubbles? --------------------------------------------------------------------- What do you call the person that brings a gun to a knife fight?

Did you happen to miss what happened when they "Just removed ghost training"? If you thought that was bad....

Nano isn't broken: 1. you have to pay through the *** to be able to get a HAC to sustain 11km/s (aka ludicrous speed) without overload. 2. Nanoships are made of tinfoil and might as well be uninsured. If you don't respect that reality you will lose a lot of isk very quickly. Especially if you're pimping it to hit "ludicrous" speed. 3. It actually takes some grey-matter skill to fly a nano-ship and keep it alive when you're outnumbered. You can't just hit F1-F6 and win.
Missiles not being able to hit an "uber" fast target is an issue; so buff missiles, increase their base speed and explosion velocity. Don't turn the game into a mindless blob-fest by nerfing the only class of ship that can effectively get away.
I see the nano-nerf making a good chunk of 0.0 battles into a moronic numbers game.

People make the arugment speed has introduced new playstyles.
Biggest problem is probably that missiles can't hit fast ships.
Solution: New kind of missile that can be loaded into any launcher (similar to defenders). Rather than exploding and being unable to hit, it launches a number of smaller and faster short-range rocklets that are able to hit nanoships. This also has the added side effect of actually wanting a missile ship or two in a fleet to deal with faster ships. It also isn't some huge sweeping change that is effecting not only every ship in the game, but also the basic functions of a number of modules.

Sounds good. They could also release a new third type of t2 missile ammo which is wicked fast short flight time with ubar explosion velocity and possibly some appropriate debuff for using it.

The idea has merit but they would have to do something else, like change the ship classes that are meant to go "super fast" to get added benefits from ABs. Actually, I really like that idea!
But, yeah. These forums seriously need some indicator that the post has ended and the sig has started. |
