It seems under certain conditions, warp disruptors do not cancel a warp in progress. I frapsed myself warping out while being scrambled and webbed by a number of people, and it happened again earlier. Unless Jaguars have developed some kind of uber buff, I don't think this is intended behaviour.. ;D
No warp core stabilisers were fitted!
Please investigate.

I find it highly probable that it's lag on SISI than anything else.

I have JUST had this happen to me, caught a Myrm undocking, he was about to warp, I scrammed him, he warped off, confirmed not to have stabs. My scram didn't cancel out the warp he had in progress. =( ------

Yes it does happen sometimes. Get 4 points on cerb, he warps O_o. We kill him later - no stabs. And we were sure there was no desync and points were properly applied (point before web etc).

I can report something similar happening today with me - a corpmate and I were testing an i-stabbed Blockade Runner vs sensor-booster Heavy Dictor.
There was at least one occasion where my overview registered that he got a lock on me, but the disruptor didn't activate. I was still able to warp.
I'm unsure if it's intended or not, but it was sure curious.
Would like to know if this feature changes, because it affects my judgement of whether to try to warp or MWD back to gate instead.

Yeah, I've had this happen too when I caught a Raven in a belt, and others on teamspeak mentioned that it has happened to them occasionally.
Weird. -----------

Edited by: Saint Schala on 20/10/2008 12:32:50 yep its always happened, from time to time a target will warp when scrammed, dunno what causes it but it does seem to happen more often than it did before. Perhaps with the introduction of hics people are noticing more it as stabs wouldn't have helped.
But ccp has more important things to take care of, medals for eg.

medals!! don't knock the epeen uber pat myself on theback i am better than you... cause i have more skill points!
/me gets the scambler medal of honor over those that fail to lock and point !!!
tbh, to the op... yeah, strange thing... always put it down to dysinc, but it happens often :( had people warp out of bubbles, had people warp from multiple points... but like its being said, be dysinc or lag or some sort of strange thing that dosen't appear on hal's logs, its annoying :-/ |

Did you check your log and verify 'blah blah blah has started to warp scramble blah blah'?
This has happened to me too, showing lock and module activation/application to target, but no log message and no global aggro either (lol, I'm a pirate, yarrr!).

It definitely seems to be happening more often. I'll go check my log too as you suggest, but the log doesnt always seem to register every disruptor being engaged... too!

Has happened to me, both when scrambling and when being scrambled.
It's kind of useless to create a bug report as the only response you'll get is the copy/paste version: "We could not replicate the problem, yada yada."
Obviously it's tough to re-create a random bug.

Client-side log only records and broadcasts the first cycle of the scram/disruptor on the target.

Happened to me once too. I was in a Geddon and enemies come through the gate. I started aligning out as they were coming through. When they turned out to have too much, I hit warp, but I hadn't been up to speed and got scrammed by a rapier before I was in warp. I was about to call out on TS that I was tackled, but I hit the windows key accidentally and alt-tabbed . Anyway, I get Eve up again and I'm in warp to my safe.
Even now I don't quite know what happened thanks to the timing of the windows key... -- Your bad loan management perfectly strikes the stock market, wrecking for -777.68 points. |

when you activate a web and a scram on your target it seems that sometimes there is a delay on those modules producing the desired effect on the targeted ship ... and if the web activates first... he warps a lot faster (before the warp disrupting begins) ... (that is usually the reason the target gets away, but ofc there might be a bug involved that i haven't experienced yet)

another motive would be ofc lag :) you pointed him on your client ... but he was already gone. (you need to check his logs not yours to be sure)

no bug, normal case + lag. once you reached 3/4 speed your warp is activated but you dont vanish instantly. there is about half a second between reaching enough speed and warping away, thus you could have locked him in this timefrime but too late cause your target is in warp already.

This has happened to us after QR aswell, I think. This combined with the insane agilities makes for a nearly broken patch IMHO. Please investigate this and make tackling most things possible again...

Happens sometimes, I guess its just lag, i.e. target has already entered warp but the server didnt notify the clients yet, client displays target lock and activated point but then gets message that the target is already away.
Result is the "Wtf had him pointed" - "Yea me too" - "This is cr*p, had my infinipoint on him" situation.

this
also IIRC you won't interrupt a warp when he has already reached warp speed (when the warping meter clears and you enter warp). this means that you can actualy help your enemies warp faster when your web activates first :-) --- SIG --- CSM: your support is needed ! |
