I've been told that the target display can be toggled between displaying horizontally across the top of the screnn and vertically down the left side. How?!?!?

was no help. It seems to only refer to moving individual targets positions within the display.

Heh yeah this ol' chestnut - here's what you do;
Go in to space and drop a can or target a friend - when you get a target lock look at the top left hand corner of your overview (the bit with the warp to buttons etc). There will be a tiny cross hair sat on the corner (if you hold your mouse over it will say "Targets Origin" - its a bit hard to make out at first; - grab that and move your targetted ship where you want it to be or right click it to sort targets vertically.

Wow, talk about having tunnel vision. It never occured to me that "the upper left corner" meant "'just to the outside of' the upper left corner". If it was a snake, it would've bitten my eyeball.  Thanks, NvyoU, that was very helpful. ... Azuse, not so much. You could have added a little more noob intolerance to that bit of sarcasm. Thanks anyway, though!

Oh gosh! Thank you! 2-1/2 years in the game and whenever that feature appeared I never noticed it. I must say, though, it's nearly invisible. Thanks again!
