The last three month has been exciting times for the low sec region between Amarr Empire and the Minmatarr Republic. With the declaration of war and the formation of the Militia Navy on both sides we have seen fast pace action and glories battle on a daily basis.
However, with the departure of the backbone corporation on both sides, Heretics Militia for the Republic and Slacker and Armada of the Empire, we seem to have arrived at the end of a chapter for FW. Now seems like a good time to take a look back and recognize the accomplishments of the past to close out the chapter and looking forward to begin the new.
For the Republic, the early stages of the war were a rush of excitement and high hopes. The Republic forces lead by charismatic leaders such as MirrorGod of the Heretic Militia and General Beanflicker of Outbreak lead the enthusiastic forces of the Republic to victory after the victory. At one point it would seems the entire sector may fall. The threat was significant enough that the Amarrian High Command did pull important religious artifacts out of the sector.
The Amarr militia Navy was not without their share of charismatic leaders. Angelonico of the series of Tubes and Wraithstorm of the Armada were two of the more active and vocal leaders in the early stages of the war. However, their efforts were constantly handicapped by infighting among the militia as past political differences got the better of the greater good.
The tides of war turned with the intervention of Concord which made system capture more difficult and gave the Amarr militia the breathing room it needed to organize. With that an elite system capture team was formed spear headed by PIE and in recent month was able to recapture most of the system lost and looks like they are now on the offensive.
The fighting has waned in the region to much smaller size battle and more focused on key system then before. A new leadership seems to have spawn from the ashes of past leaders and the current group seems much quieter and determined then the previous.

Looking forwardą.
For the Republic, the militia is faced with difficult time with Heretic not only leaving but forming an Alliance of pirateĘs hell bent on their destruction. However, they are more determine then ever under the banner of new corporations such as the Wing of Maak, 17th Minmatar Tactical Wing, Tribal Core, Valklear Guard and the new eccentric FC Smog890.
For the Empire, things are proceeding with clockwork precision. With the departure of Slacker and Armada, PIE is now the undisputed leader of the militia and they seem well organized and with powerful backing.
The Author is a neutral bystander of this War and represents a small group of interested scholars who have enlisted into both the Republic and Empire militia with the intention of documenting this conflict.
We believe ISD with their limited resource do not do this story justice. With apology to the Amarr Militia, we do not have as well an insight into your organization due to your tighter security.
Finally, we would like to invite pilots from both sides to post their story and insight into this conflict in here. We are sure we left out important contributor to the war and what better ways than to have the pilots who fly under their banner recognize their leadership.

I'd remove 17th Minmatar Tactical Wing from your "more determine then ever under the banner of new corporations such as..." comment as they were hijacked by the corp thief Megan Maynard, the ousted directors reformed as the Valklear Guard, also on your list, and who are now back in action more determined that ever.
CONCORDs interference just continues to show their interest in the status quo. Justifing another attack on Yulai, if they don't get out of the way.

If I have overseen the best of the minmatar militia's days, it is too soon. They're a potent group, and definately much more deserving of occupancy than thier zealot counterparts; Minmatar actually attempt to base out of low-security systems.
My thanks for an accurate overview of the past three (I would say four now) months, I can support and confirm, albiet the fact the General Bean is indeed in heretics.
It was certainly some of the most interesting warfare I've taken part in, personally, the lack of sentry fire allowed me to explore combatstyles that are now once again on the wayside. The Fleet Commanding, while demanding more of me, gave us the chance to slaughter waves of amarrian ships, it was quite the honor to be calling primaries.
In the current times, our pirate coalition, comes to bleaks and heimetar. Contrary to heated claims, we're not out for the whole minmatar militia, but for a certain few heads. Our goal is the preservation of the dieing art that is piracy, and we're having a wonderful time.
It's been an interesting four months, and it's not over yet.

You have clearly spent time to observe the conflict, Miss Queen. The penury of information on Amarr Militia organisation is a good thing, in my opinion. I would hope that it should stay this way - that none should think it wise to make public the inner workings of their esteemed organisation, nor through any good or bad intention glorify the personages behind its success in lieu of the Lord we all serve.

To clear up some misinformation. General Beanflicker led the bulk of his legendary "Bean Fleets" under the minmatar banner, for the corporation Kinda'Shujaa and before that for TLF. He joined Heretics later in the war. Heretics have never been much for plexing as shown by their pilots low ranks. They have always been more focused on the PVP side of things. The minmatar side has always been supported by many large and small corporations that have greatly contributed to the cause. Corporations and leaders come and go but the minmatar cause will always have soldiers to step onto the field.

A good overview of the Faction Wars, to be sure. I thank you MQ for you insight, even as a neutral bystander. Still, as neutral bystander, much of our information must have been gleaned from debriefing reports. While PIE now seems to be the leader in many areas, much of that comes from sheer numbers on paper. Some of those numbers have been made to seem greater than it actually is as once a pilot or corp leaves the militia, their stats are stricken from the database.
Now...I am not making this point to play-down the success my corp has had in the Faction Wars to date, both as individual pilots and as a corporation, I make this point so that the incredible efforts of pilots that have either left the Amarr Militia, are currently serving, or hope to join are not overlooked. The sucess of PIE has come from closely working with a wide array of elements on a diverse agenda of tasks within the Faction War arena.
PIE's dedication ot the Empire and the Empress are fueled by a deep sense of duty. The Faction War is the will of God and of the Empire and we are the faithful servants of both entities. Our sucess is a synergy that comes from working with the Militia and it's pilots and from an unflinching commitment to stay at it until victory is achieved...

Ofc your having a wonderful time, Piracy is not "dying" or any such nonsense, it should in fact be on the rise. After all, with low-sec milling with potential targets you finally have what you have whined after for years: More targets.
If the targets move in packs with weapons hot you will just have to improvise to overcome them.
Piracy is a "dying" "art"... now I've heard that too.

Edited by: BattleStar Crusader on 22/10/2008 20:29:45 Your insight is both welcome and accurate. But i hope you are basing the corps from the stats on the kill boards and militia stats page. There are a handful of corps in the milita that work closley together to fight the minmitar on a daily basis. And some of the FC's have been fc'ng since the start and won some great battles, but becuase of the corp they are in get very little publicity. In all honesty i think you should ask the milita about the current status, who is the foremost corps of the amarr, and who the main fleet commanders are. To be more accurate you should also try to accuire info froom both timezones as EU and USA have different FC's.

Interesting brief recollection of four months of war. But you should remember to add that the Amarr have always fought with less menpower, even in the recent months of successes.

Less manpower is not everything. They have good manpower on the right time. Those pilots they have are better trained with much better material - from the nonidealistic view. On the idealistic level I always will take on every Amarr crap even in a fine Mitar Slasher.
But of cause, the Amarr are well organized and highly motivated. I really don't know why cause they don't gain anything from us but this is the problem with fanatics. They are dangerous and put their god and their slaveryissue over every other thing. Over life, over peace, over freedom.
When Mitar has the manpower to counter something the Amarr have done all damage they could to our systems. But now, after we lost some of our most potential fighters in the militia, we recover again our Mitar virtues: Hit & Run and fight and win from an underdog position, with lowcost ships, badly fitted, uncoordinated and mostly Rookie pilots that often do not know even the most basic things in battle.
And under this circumstances we fight well. And sometimes it seems that we even are slowly moving the scale that is so much on the side of the Amarr now.
But freedom is strong cause. On the long run the Amarr can nothing but be defeated. The only question is, how much blood will float in the space between the Free Republic and the Evil Empire.
The big corporations are an important tool in this war. But more important is the motivation, the education and the inspiration of our young warriors. And this is done well. This is why we are beginning to stopp the Amarr invasion. Slowly but I can see the tides change now.
