OK so I have found that Veldspar is is the better high sec ore to mine, now I have a question about it.
I have found a nice system with 22 or so belts in high sec to mine in with not too many others compared to the amount of belts. Now the real question is thus: is it worth jumping all over the system just mining out the 10% variant of Veldspare (dence) or just be content with the abundance of the 5% stuff and sit and mine that?
I am in an Osprey at the moment and skilling towards a barge atm (Retriever) which should be ready within the week. Also I don't want to do low sec mining for the moment, just want to get funds up to be able to afford to be ganked in low sec and not be totally financially screwed.
Thanks in advance

Making money is all about making the most of your time. You have to ask yourself if you would make more money per an hour looking for that extra 5% roid or mining what's already right in front of you.
If each belt has 5-10 Dense Veldspar and over 20 Concentrated, then I think the obvious choice would be to mine both! You'd make more ISK per an hour doing constant mining no matter what type of roid it is rather than jumping from belt to belt looking for all the 10% roids. Of course you should stick to the roids that you have refining skills with.

It depends on a number of factors. Over where I am, tritanium has loads of buy orders for between 3.02 and 3.5 per unit, while the corresponding prices for pyerite are considerably lower. The result is you make more ISK per cubic meter mining veldspar than you do mining scordite or pyroxeres/plagioclase. The only problem is the "compression factor", because that hauler loaded to the brim with tritanium is only worth a few million credits.
If you're refining into minerals and selling them, you need to look at the going rates for those minerals and figure out the ISK/m3 ratio. If you're just selling the ore straight, look at the price of the ore and do the same ISK/m3 calculation. I agree, though, mine whatever is in range of your lasers (of the ore type you've chosen to mine) before moving. ______________________________________________________ Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you? |

I saw on the market someone was paying 14.6 isk in otela for dense veldspar now thats a really good price per 200 units |

i'm of the perpetual motion theory of mining... park and grab anything and everything in range, then move on. |

Yes, I agree, just mine all the veld in range. If you are jetcan mining it would be easier this way too, instead of hauling half empty cans just so you can move onto the next belt. Veld is normally the best highsec ore to mine although sometimes the markets change. I always check out the market before each mining run to see if anything has changed. Generally though veld gives more isk/m3 |

This ^^
I mine around 19000 m3 of ore per 30 min this way, in an osprey! |

It depends on how often you pop roids.
My guide line would be: As long as you are in a frigate or cruiser go for the +10% roids. Once you are in a barge with strip miners go for them all. Perhaps go for +5% and +10% if you are somewhere in between.
