Okay, what's with CCP Fallout's crusade against bumping threads in the Want Ads forum? All of a sudden he's going around locking threads for being bumped. As far as I know and as far as CCP Mitnal stated, bumping is allowed once per day, so what's with all this thread locking? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm? |

Discussing moderation on these forums is not allowed. So I guess you will have another thread locked to add to your collection.
I believe there is an email address that you can send your questions to.

Discussing moderation isn't ok.
Bumping thread without content isn't ok.
Bumping by the original poster without relative new content isn't ok.

It's not a fail thread, I'm trying to understand what is going on with this new policy. It's not my fault there just happens to be a lot of trolls on the forums.
And fyi I did e-mail CCP, but sometimes you'll have better luck with communicating with CCP on the forums.

You are fail as the OP speaks of trading threads being locked because of bumping, trading threads aren't meant to be a "good forum topic" with nice little discussions, as its just a sale or purchase.

Had a quick look around and I think I found the thread that the OP was talking about.
He was very careful about keeping to the traditional 1 bump per day limit.
If there is a change in this policy, I think that it is appropreate for CCP to clarify that change.
I haven't done a search to see if the OP was maintaining multiple threads in that forum, which would be grounds for locking all but one, however if that was the reason for the lock, then that's the reason that should have been given, not a generic "too much bumping"

If there is going to be a change to the bumping policy, it would be nice if you got some feed back from those who use the forums.
For some of the trade forums (such as the Timecode Bizzare), more frequent bumping might be appropreate. For others, less frequent bumping might work better.
At the same time, it would really suck if you biased the WTB/WTS forums such that those with the most alts posting have the greatest advantage. |

Don't miss part 5b: Quote:
5b. Bumping must consist of a real sentence, not simply the word "bump". For example: "Auction still open" is an acceptable bump.
I've seen lots of 'bump' bumps bumping the tread....
(argh what am i writing some floating eyeballs or joking sherrif will certainly misuse this)
