You'd figure that if a race of players can create wormholes to other locations in space, that they'd have figured out how to put a TIMER indicator on a module!!!
This is a seriously annoying thing to have to do when activating cynosural field gens, Capital class Triage Module, and Siege modules.
This is MUCH more of a concern to capital pilots that use those two modules. Please, just a simple text countdown timer over the module icon, or just as a text indicator in the top-left, or wherever (doesn't matter really, just visible), heck even using the targeting bar as guide would work.
Please, make this change happen. Nothing fancy required, just a timer.
Thank you CCP for listening,
Spyrule. |

What about also redusing the cynosural field timer from the insane long 10 minutes to 3 or 4 minutes. Setting up a cyno means for 10 minutes a free turkey shoot. Or give at least the change to fly or warp away after setting up the damn thing. Just beeing a sitting duck for 10 minutes after setting up the cyno is bloody annoying tbh. |

^ That's the whole point. Though a timer would be nice. I'm tired of having a stopwatch next to my computer. |

The mods in Sisi do this now. There is a ring around the module which tells you when the cycle ends. I have not specifically tested the cyno, but I am sure it works for that as it did for the MWD. |

Signed. I'd like to see this put in as a separate readout like we get for shields and such. Please let me retire my egg timer!

Yes, but what they do have in sisi, is quite lacking.
You can't possibly tell me that a text based timer indicator is a difficult thing to code in.
Frankly, the system already tracks what the timer is anyways (it has to know when to release your ship from immobility), so just display that time.
Cheers,

It shouldnt be that hard to figure out how much you have left on your siege cycle by looking at the animation unless you got horrible eyes/imagination. ----

Actually I just tested the new feature on Sisi, and it doesn't work as intended.
The modules actually deactive BEFORE the timer is complete. So realisticly, you cannot judge the time properly based on the graphical indicator.
in otherwords... it's useless.

well.... if they have it on this, what about on the other mods? a countdown is always really useful... i guess an option to use numbers or fancy graphic would be nice.
however, if the was ever a mod you could really use a countdown for it would be the cyno gen....

Yes,
But the version that exists on sisi, sucks. It needs to be more accurate, and have absolute readout.
That's all that I am asking for.
Either support it, or stfu and go troll another thread. Cheers. |

I would like to be able to run a cyno longer than the usual 10 minutes. I would like something like a skill or a ship with a bonus to this. I often need to keep a cyno open for hours and the Liquid Ozone is not cheap.

Edited by: Darkdood on 27/10/2008 03:24:08 You need to go look at the changes on the test server. All of the icons for the buttons F1-F8 etc have the timer highlighted in a grey ring that circles the button to be the full 360 deg at completion. It also does a FAR better job of showing you the module is active still than the red and green which can be weird depending on the background space.
Its a really cool feature and 90% addresses your problem. I had never cynoed/jumped a capital before and once I got on test to check out the Orca's I decided to try it. The ring was a very clear indicator when it was going to end the cyno. I didn't know the exact second like a timer but still I could tell to within say 5-10 seconds.
Edit...
Heh I just noticed your reply. I only skimmed them before. Bleh whatever. Some people can never be pleased.
Although I do have to admit seems like it would be easy to just have a numerical display, but I don't know how its coded. They did add a little tiny number for the stacking/linking weapons. Seems like they could just overlay the countdown on top of the artwork just like that. Esp on something like a cyno or siege it wouldn't prevent you from seeing ammo type etc. Shrug...

You're so lazy. Open up the cyno, broadcast.
Then you can just hover over the broadcast to see how long ago it was when it gets to like 9m58s, it will drop the cyno.
